Program Registration OPENS TOMORROW morning at 7 am! Whohooooo. What's on offer this season?
- Youth programs (Bunnyrabbits, Jackrabbits, Nordic Cruisers)
- Biathlon (adults and youth) with electronic biathlon ri**es and skate skiing
- Adult programs (Monday Master Skiers, Yoga & Ski on Tuesdays, Winter Fit on Thursdays)

We will also open up registration soon for the second Annual Dawn Mountain Dust Off - save the dates: Dec 12/13. Let us know if you want to be notified when this opens us (messenger/email programcoordinator (at) goldennordicclub (dot) ca.

Season Prep for 2026-2027
Lots of wheels are moving these days to put another great season together.

Below is our partial to-do list:
Hire grooming team - DONE!
Find coaches - need a few more! HELP: Bunnyrabbits, Jackrabbits, Biathlon.
Find board members to join the Board of Directors - need a TREASURER and PRESIDENT, HELP!
Open up membership registration - DONE!
Open up program registrations - SOON: Oct 14th at 7 am on Zone4 (youth & adult programs)
Send out Chalet staff contracts - DONE!
Announce the AGM - DONE! Oct 14 at 7 pm at Island Restaurant.
Find a new bookkeeper - Job posting in progress! STAY TUNED!
Planning the Huckleberry Loppet (Jan 30/31) - Join our Loppet leaders meeting on Oct 28 at 6:30 pm! Location TBA. Email us if you can make it.

Do you have a few hours to help me at our club's table? It will be great to have a few volunteers join me.

Saturday, October 10th (anytime between 10 am - 3 pm)

What will you do? Talk about the club, sign up volunteers, support the Ecoaims demo (people can try it!), and give me a bathroom break! It'll be fun!

Announcement & Invitation: The club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Wednesday, October 14th at 7 pm at the Island Restaurant.

Meet like-minded folks, be the first to hear the season's end report and plans for the coming season, and perhaps even put your name forward for one of the open board positions (president, treasurer, member-at-large). Current members can vote for new board members.

A few things are new this year:

Membership rates have increased for family and individual adults to help balance the club’s budget. This is the first increase since the 2019–20 season, and we’re still proud to have one of the lowest membership rates in BC.

Youth program registration will be separate from membership registration this year. We’ll share a Zone4 link soon for youth programs and seasonal take-home equipment rentals.

We need volunteers! When you select a volunteer role, our volunteer coordinator Rose will connect with you to find something that fits your schedule and interests. Every hour helps make the season a success!

We are looking to fill the positions of Treasurer and President, as well as two board member at large. The positions are very important to keep our board workload manageable and so all the moving parts of the club run smoothly.

For over 20 years, our club's leadership has worked really hard to get to where we are today. We are proud of the work that has been accomplished so far. We do not want to "hit the wall" by having vacancies on the 2026-2027 board.

Our summer's newsletter is out!

With a few reflections from the past season to get you in the mood for this coming season, we hope to inspire you to consider filling an important role for our club. Some longtime volunteers are stepping down to pursue other passions in their lives so our club needs a president, a treasurer, and two new board members at large. Also, we are still considering new applicants until the end of July for Head of Grooming Operations.

It was great to see some of our club's members join in yesterday at the annual community clean-up! The combined efforts included Dawn Mountain's parking area, the plaza, the ski hill parking areas, the neighbourhoods, and the road to the Columbia River bridge. Way to go, team! Thanks a lot.
