Our goal is to get people of all ages involved in skateboarding and snowboarding and to help them gain more knowledge, skills, and confidence in their sport. Skateboard and Snowboard School is a family-owned and operated business in Golden British Columbia created by local professional snowboarder and lifelong skateboarder Jessie Oatway. Our programs are designed for all ages and skill levels (inc

luding the “I’ve never seen a board before”.) Sideways Strategies is here to help you improve faster and safer alongside our fully certified local coaches. We understand that each rider has different strengths and abilities, we focus on each rider’s individual goals and needs. All of our coaches are certified and registered with the NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) and all of our programs and curriculums are overseen by Canada Skateboard, Canada Snowboard, and the National Sport Federation. The goal of our programs is to not only help you progress your riding abilities in skateboarding or snowboarding but to help you learn the sport inside and out so you can continue to live the lifestyle of riding sideways.

Let’s help coach Devun get to the freeride world champs in Austria to represent for Canada and Golden BC.

Every little bit helps please share and help us continue this journey.

Devun Perry, just 16 years old, has earned a spot to represent Canada at the FIS Junior Freeride World Championships in Austria! He’s worked so hard, coming back after a serious injury, and after last season he’s the only U18 Canadian snowboard athlete qualified for the world champs. This fundraiser is just getting started, and sharing helps so much. Even if you can’t donate, a quick share or repost can help it reach people who may be able to support.

MADE FOR MONDAYS is back.

Starting May 25th, we are launching a free 6-week youth-led program for boys ages 12–16 focused on mentorship, healthy relationships, leadership, skateboarding, and community.

Each Monday evening will include:
• Dinner, snacks, and drinks
• Group conversations and activities
• Free time in our indoor skatepark
• Coaches, mentors, and all gear provided

This program is designed to create safer spaces for youth to be heard, respected, and supported while building awareness around healthy relationships and gender based violence.
