The YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange (SWSE) program offers 16- and 17-year-olds a unique opportunity to gain paid work experience, build confidence, and form meaningful connections — all while discovering a new region of Canada.

By living and working in another community during this six-week exchange, youth also strengthen their French or English skills and develop independence.

Applications for the 2026 program, which runs from June 27 to August 8, are open.

Looking for a great way to help your child build confidence and important life skills? We’ve got TWO awesome courses happening this weekend:

Home Alone Course – teaches youth how to stay safe and responsible when home alone.

Babysitters Course – perfect for future babysitters to learn child care basics, safety skills, and emergency preparedness.
