The 101 Fallers

The 101 Fallers The 101 Fallers is an adult mens team playing in the Sunshine Coast Adult Hockey League (SCAHL) Hurricanes).

In September 2014 the new Cutters hockey team was reborn out of the original Sechelt Shell Cutters. Borrowing the old jerseys the team consisted of mainly new players to the Sunshine Coast and players from disbanded teams (i.e. The open league consisted of 7 teams of which the Cutters finished 6th. In 2015 it was decided to rebrand the team Gibsons Mark´s Cutters after getting sponsorship from the

local Gibsons Mark´s store. We also worked out a partnership with Larry´s Sports in North Vancouver. New jerseys were ordered to match Mark´s corporate colours (orange) an the team chose Philadelphia 3rd team jerseys. The 2015 /16 season saw the Cutters finish 4th out of 5 teams, almost making the final round of the playoffs. Team MVP for 2015 was Nolan Caldwell who was also voted Assistant Captain. The 2016/17 season sees the addition of a 6th team to the league (The Hawks). The 2016/17 season team MVP was Gavin Strom and defensive MVP Will Hutchings. The 2017/18 season marks a change in league management from the SCRD over to the new Sunshine Coast Mens Hockey League. The 2017/18 season featured 6 teams with the Rangers being replaced by the Kings. 2018/19 and 2019/20 were transition years for the Cutters. In 2019 a new group of 18 year olds started with the Cutters including Declan Coyle, Ashley Keegan, Jackson Cole, Liam Hage, Jordan Anderson and Levi McQueen. The end of the 2020 season came to an abrupt end in March with COVID cases spiking. The 2020/21 wasn’t much of a season at all thanks to COVID. We had a total of 1 game against the Kings which we split 5-5. We’re hoping 2021/22 season will mark a return to normalcy.

The 101 Fallers found their way back onto the winning column with a solid 9-7 win over the Hitmen in Sechelt tonight. Solid goaltending by Justin kept us in the game. Great passing unleashed Trevor to a 4 goal night.
