🏒🥇 Olympic Gold Medalist Coaching the Next Generation of Twisters! 🥇🏒

The North Halton Twisters are thrilled to have Tessa Bonhomme on the ice coaching our Tyke Program at our Milton location, helping inspire the next generation of Twisters! 🌪️

Tessa is a former Canadian professional hockey player, Olympic Gold Medalist, and sports broadcaster. She helped Team Canada capture GOLD at the 2010 Winter Olympics and also played professionally with the Toronto Furies in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League.

Today, Tessa continues to make an impact on the women’s game through her work in sports media. She helps lead coverage of the PWHL and co-hosts the league’s official podcast, Jocks in Jills, part of PWHL Media House. 🎙️🏒

What an incredible opportunity for some of our youngest Twisters to learn from someone who has experienced the game at the highest level—as a player, Olympian, broadcaster, and ambassador for women’s hockey.

We are so excited to have Tessa sharing her knowledge, passion, energy, and love of hockey with our young athletes as they build their skills, confidence, friendships—and most importantly, their love for the game. 🩵

🏒🥇 Olympic Gold Medalist Coaching the Next Generation of Twisters! 🥇🏒

The North Halton Twisters are thrilled to have Tessa Bonhomme on the ice coaching our Tyke program at the Milton location and helping inspire the next generation of Twisters! 🌪️

The North Halton Girls Hockey Association is heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Nick Muffitt.

Nick coached with the Twisters for over six years, across both House League and Rep, often taking on multiple teams as both a parent and non-parent coach. He was named Twisters Coach of the Year for the 2023-24 season, and this season he was set to coach both the U18B and U22A teams as a non-parent coach.

Nick was an exceptionally dedicated coach who regularly spent extra time working with players. He believed in developing not just strong hockey players, but strong people — and his impact on so many over the years is clear in the outpouring of love and support we’ve seen.

Our association sends our deepest condolences to Nick’s family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched. We especially send our thoughts to Nick’s daughter Gwen, a long time Twister player. He will be deeply missed.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Alex Janjevich, Ava Patel, and Maria Herback as the recipients of the North Halton Girls Hockey Association Scholarship.

Introducing the “First Shift” program, designed exclusively for girls aged 6-10 who are new to hockey! For just $299, your young athlete will enjoy 6 exciting on-ice sessions at Sherwood in Milton. Mark your calendars for October 17, 24, 31 and November 7, 14, and 21, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
