Ce dernier week-end, nous avons eu le plaisir d'accueillir Haruo Matsuoka Shihan. Son mentor, Abe Sensei, lui disait que l'aïkido est l'art de la connexion. Pour sa première visite au Canada, Sensei a choisi de partager avec nous son enseignement sur le Tsunagari (la connexion de tout le corps et la relation entre uke et nage), ainsi que d'approfondir la notion de kokyu.

Au cours du week-end, nous avons visité le jardin botanique, de jour ainsi que lors de l'événement des lanternes magiques, et nous avons également fait une visite du Vieux-Port de Montréal. À cette occasion, nous avons eu la chance d’assister à une cérémonie du thé avec Reina Sakao du groupe Sakao de Montréal.

Je tiens à adresser un grand merci à Sensei Daniel Laurendeau du dojo Aïkido McGill, ainsi qu’à toute son équipe dévouée qui nous a réservé un accueil exceptionnel. Matsuoka Sensei s’est senti très bien accueilli par cette équipe chaleureuse. Vous êtes les meilleurs, nous reviendrons sans aucun doute !

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of welcoming Haruo Matsuoka Shihan. His mentor, Abe Sensei, used to say that Aikido is the art of connection. For his first visit to Canada, Sensei chose to share with us his teachings on Tsunagari (the connection of the entire body and the relationship between uke and nage), as well as to delve deeper into the concept of kokyu.

Over the weekend, we visited the botanical garden during the day, and later enjoyed the magic of the lantern event. We also toured the Old Port of Montreal, where we had the opportunity to attend a tea ceremony with Reina Sakao from the Sakao group in Montreal.

I would like to extend a big thank you to Sensei Daniel Laurendeau from the Aikido McGill dojo, as well as to his entire dedicated team who gave us a warm and exceptional welcome. Matsuoka Sensei felt very well received by this wonderful team. You are the best, and we will definitely be back!
