Something new is waiting at Garson Arena for the 2026–2027 season! 🏒

We’re excited to unveil the new Nickel Centre Minor Hockey centre-ice logo — a permanent piece of NCMHA pride right in the heart of our home rink.

This project was made possible through fundraising proceeds generated by NCMHA’s participation in the Charitable Gaming program at Delta Bingo & Gaming, and was one of the investments in our association discussed at our Annual General Meeting.

Fundraising initiatives like Charitable Gaming give NCMHA opportunities to invest back into our association and our hockey community without placing those costs directly on our families.

For generations of Nickel Centre players, Garson Arena has been home. Now, every time our players step onto the ice, there will be no mistaking whose home it is.

Looking for a little more hockey this season?

The Nickel Centre Flyers U9 Tier 1 program is focused on giving young players more opportunities to develop their skills, build confidence, have fun and compete as a team — both on and off the ice!

Players can look forward to:

🏒 2–3 ice times per week
🥅 Goalie-specific instruction
⛸️ Specialized power skating classes
🏆 Two out-of-Sudbury tournaments
🥷 Bi-weekly team-building activities at Nickel City Ninjas
📈 Additional skill-development opportunities

Prep skates and evaluation skates will begin in September.

🏒 From House League to Championship Hockey. 🏆

Following the House League season, NCMHA proudly fielded four Flyers Select teams (U11, U13, U15, and U16), giving players the opportunity to continue competing while representing Nickel Centre.

Our U11 and U13 Flyers Select teams capped off an incredible spring by bringing home championship titles at the Etobicoke Bulldogs Spring Select Tournament.

While not every tournament ends with a medal, all four of our Flyers Select teams represented NCMHA with pride, competing hard, supporting one another, and continuing to develop their skills after the House League season.

🏒 Champions at Every Level. 🏆

Our U16 and U18 Blast divisions wrapped up the 2025–26 season with an outstanding collection of tournament results, combining for 6 podium finishes!

One of the season's biggest highlights came at the Ken Creasey Memorial Tournament, where our U16 and U18 divisions met in the championship game, guaranteeing the title would be staying right here in Nickel Centre. It's a testament to the strength and depth of our hockey program.

From tournament championships to championship game appearances, our oldest players continued to compete with determination, represent NCMHA with pride, and demonstrate the hard work that defines our association.

Congratulations to all of our players, coaches, managers, and families on an incredible season. Your dedication and commitment helped make 2025–26 another year to remember! 🧡🖤
