📣As many know, there are tons of moose action on the trails everywhere. Drive with caution, especially at night!!📣

As capreol ridge riders has stated, there is a stressed out moose on the rail bed trail on a corner just after the culvert (going towards capreol from skead).

Someone has dropped food all over the trail on this corner. This is a great time to remind people to STOP feeding wild animals! Your heart may have been in the right place but this is dangerous for everyone. We shouldn’t be encouraging wild animals to be feeding on trail to potentially get hurt or someone riding get hurt.

Please ride with caution and be safe!

Please refrain from using the Skead Community Centre parking lot this coming Saturday for parking. It is needed for MNR training.

Due to the weather forecast this Saturday, the Trailside BBQ will now be held on Sunday, March 8 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM (while quantities last) at Paquette's Your Independent Grocers in Hanmer.

A REMINDER TO ALL RIDERS
Please slow down and ride your side of the trail!!!
We have been getting reports of aggressive riding. One of our own club members had to go off the trail to avoid a head on collision. This should not be happening, everyone deserves to go out for a ride and make it back home safely. Please be cautious when out and be SAFE!

We’re excited to welcome riders for the 2nd Annual Ride Around Wanapitei Poker Run on February 21, 2026!

Warm up at The Fire House Bar & Grill with one of our freshly made soups — Chicken Orzo or Broccoli Cheddar, or some delicious Chili 🔥

Doors open at 9:30. Full kitchen opens at 11AM!

🗓️When? Saturday February 21, 2026.
🕘Starting at 9:00am.
📍Where? Starting location is at the Skead community centre.

1. Skead community centre
2. Sportsman’s Lodge
3. Hiawatha’s restaurant
4. Firehouse Bar and Grill
5. Skead community centre (final stop)

DETAILS AND RULES:
- Ontario trail pass is required for riders
- Must be 18+ to participate in the poker game
- Tally sheets must be returned by 4:00pm
- Winner announcement will be on the Nickel Belt Snow Spirits page
- Draw 5 cards; option to delete one and buy another at the Skead community centre.

$10 per hand or 3 hands for $25 🃏
Tickets available through messenger or in person day of event.
