Hello, Beaver Valley May Days Friends!
This morning, I received this message. This is what it is all about.
"Gladys Todd, my 94-year-old friend and long-time resident of Fruitvale, called me this morning to thank all the May Days volunteers for all their hard work for an amazing weekend, and so cleaned up at the end. She has a lot of years to compare."
This makes all the work, the sacrifice of personal and work time, and conflict resolution (does anyone have an opinion on fireworks?) worthwhile.
We have received many similar messages, and we're glad we pulled it off this year, though it was on the brink of cancellation until just 10 days before kick-off.
We need help.
Everything went smoothly this year I think, but we have many holes to fill in our team. Things like advertising suffered because they just did not make it to the top of our to-do list.
At our AGM (Date TBD), we will be seeking at least 6 dedicated people to serve on our board. Please come to the AGM and get involved!
Let's make every year the best year!
And Gladys, you are more than welcome. See you next year!
Steve Van Hemert,
Beaverian Gardens Director
