Another fantastic Men’s Bonspiel wrapped up at the Beaver Valley Curling Club and the ice was full of great shots, close games, and even better company!

Congratulations to all of our event winners and a big hometown cheer for the Teasdale rink from Fruitvale on taking the A Event title! 🏆 The first BV team to win our Men’s Bonspiel since 2019!

To everyone who curled, came out to watch, flipped burgers, poured drinks, took care of the ice and volunteered behind the scenes, thank you. This club runs on community and we are so lucky to have the best. ❤️

That closes the book on our 2026 weekend bonspiels… but don’t worry, we’ll be back and ready to do it all again in 2027! 🥌

Beaver Valley May Days is looking for volunteers! See the post below for more information and to sign up today!

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS:

The Beaver Valley May Days Society are asking for Volunteers to join us. Beaver Valley May Day needs volunteers to be able to continue with this years events.

The Beaver Valley May Days society, like most Volunteer organizations have seen reduced numbers, less volunteers each year and or less commitment from our communities.

Events like ours need volunteers to help organize and plan these events, permits and traffic, safety and parade permits, liquor licenses, food permits, fundraising and sponsorship work to build funding to pay for these events.

Beaver Valley May Days needs the following volunteers to move forward or this years event is in trouble

Board of Directors:
Secretary
Operations Director
Entertainment Director

These positions above require meetings 1x a month until April and then every 2 weeks until the event happens. They will require their job profiles to be completed and looked after by you.

Volunteers:
Clean up:
We need a company or a group of volunteers to look after the park cleaning throughout the event. This means you will be needed from May 22nd 2pm until Sunday May 24th at 5pm

Set up and take down crew:
This crew helps with event set up starting Thursday May 21st and 22nd, and then back for tear down on Sunday May 24th at 3pm-8pm.

Kids Zone:
Each year this area suffers as volunteers are hard to come by, last year we had a company join with us to help with this tent. The company had to pay their employees to attend as volunteers are hard to find.
We need an organization or group of volunteers to help with setting this up, provide face painting and include (we have a vendor for painting and balloon creations. We would like activities, games, bouncy houses, sand pile and more.

Music:
Our Music Program is making a changes this year, to add a new show presented by a new provider, new staging and sound, bigger groups and lights and more
we may need some volunteers to help with this as well

The Beavery Valley May Days Society will open the call for volunteers until Feb 28th, if we are unable to recruit and fill these positions then we will be forced to cancel and look at options to begin restructuring and refocusing May Days into a newer event that makes more sense for our area and needs.

What an incredible weekend at the Beaver Valley Curling Club’s Ladies Bonspiel! Huge congratulations to all of our winners, with a special shoutout to the Colussi rink from Fruitvale for taking home first place in the A Event! 🏆

Thank you to everyone who came out to curl, cheer and celebrate with us and to our amazing volunteers who kept everything running smoothly all weekend long. From ice prep to meals and everything in between, we couldn’t have done it without you.
