This Saturday, our doors open for something special. 🎉

We're proud to welcome United Colours Of Fashion back to The Cultural Centre for the 2026 Fall Fashion Festival — and this year marks four years of hosting this celebration in our space.

Under the theme "From Roots to Runway: Designing Belonging," the festival brings together designers, models, performers, and community members from many cultures for an afternoon of fashion, music, creativity, and connection.

There's a real sense of movement and colour at The Cultural Centre this week — from a Thursday-night dance workout to a weekend celebration of fashion and culture right here in our space. 🎉

Here's what's happening September 8–13:

💃 Thursday, Sept 10 — Zumba with Rachel Mills, CANCELLED due to FREX

👗 Friday, Sept 11 — United Colours of Fashion holds a closed dress rehearsal in our space, 5:00–7:00 PM, as the team gets runway-ready.

🌈 Saturday, Sept 12 — We're proud to host the United Colours of Fashion Show, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM — a vibrant celebration of style, culture and community at The Cultural Centre.

📌 A heads-up on parking: on-site parking is limited from September 8–13 due to the Fredericton Exhibition. Please plan a little extra time, and consider carpooling if you're heading our way.

🍁 We're closed for Labour Day

The Cultural Centre is closed today, Monday, September 7, for the Labour Day holiday.

Labour Day is a chance to recognize the workers and volunteers whose energy keeps our community moving — including everyone who helps make this a welcoming space for gatherings, events, and connection all year long.

We'll reopen Tuesday, September 8, and look forward to seeing you then.

It's a quiet one at The Cultural Centre this long weekend. 🍂

With the 199th Fredericton Exhibition about to get underway next door and summer winding down before school is back in session, things are calm around here — a nice pause before a busy fall.

We're open this weekend, though hours vary by tenant, so please check directly with the organization you're visiting for their schedule.

A quick heads-up: with the Fredericton Exhibition nearby, parking on site is very limited this weekend. Please plan ahead if you're stopping by.

We'll also be closed on Monday, September 7 as we celebrate Labour Day with our community.

Heads up if you're heading our way over the next couple of weeks! 🚧

Starting tomorrow, you may notice fencing going up around The Cultural Centre. It's that time of year again — the Fredericton Exhibition is getting ready for its annual run, and the setup happens right around us.

Good news: The Cultural Centre and all of our tenant organizations remain open and welcoming throughout. The main thing to keep in mind is that parking will be limited until the exhibition wraps up on September 13th.

If you're visiting us or one of our tenant organizations during this stretch, we'd suggest giving yourself a little extra time to find a spot. Thanks so much for your patience — and enjoy the buzz the Fredericton Exhibition brings to our corner of the city! 🎡

What's Happening This Week at The Cultural Centre — August 31 to September 6!

It's a quieter week around 28 Saunders Street as we ease toward the long weekend, but there's still good energy moving through our spaces. Here's what's on:

Our boardroom is hosting a private training session — not a public event, but our doors are busy!

🗓️ Wednesday, September 2 · 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
The Multicultural Association of Fredericton welcomes new families for their "Welcome Back to School": SWIS Newcomer Orientation in our event space — a warm start to the school year for newcomers in our community. 💙

🗓️ Thursday, September 3 · 7:00 – 8:00 PM
Get moving with Zumba with Rachel Mills in the event space. Bring your energy and dance it out!

The Fredericton Exhibition begins! On-site parking will be limited throughout the day and following week, so please plan ahead if you're stopping by.

A note for our community 💙

You may have seen recent news about the future of the Exhibition Grounds and the lands around our neighbourhood. Since then, a lot of people have reached out with the same question: what does this mean for The Cultural Centre?

The short answer — nothing changes for us.

The Cultural Centre owns both our building and the land at 28 Saunders Street, and this remains our home. We continue to operate here, serve our community here, and plan for the future here.

The Cultural Centre remains open, active, and ready to welcome you — the same spaces, the same programs, the same partners, and the same warm front door that has been part of this community for years.

While the neighbourhood around us may evolve, our commitment to the community remains the same. We will continue to provide a place where people can gather, celebrate culture, share ideas, host events, build connections, and feel at home.

Change can bring questions and uncertainty, and we understand why people may be wondering what the future holds. For The Cultural Centre, our focus remains right here at 28 Saunders Street, where we intend to continue serving our community for years to come.

Neighbourhoods grow and change, and ours is no exception. Through all of it, we'll remain what we've always been: a welcoming home for gathering, culture, and connection in the heart of Fredericton's west end. 💙
