Ben Eoin Ski Team Welcome to the public page for the Ben Eoin Ski Team! Our team of downhill ski racers range in age from 8 to 18 who race throughout Atlantic Canada!

General Info For New Athletes
The youngest athletes on the team are 7 and 8 years old and up to 18 years old. There are currently no formal tryouts but coaches do ask some questions to determine if a child is currently a good fit for the team and in what training group they would belong. It is important that the child has a certain level of independence and that parents and guardians are comfortab

le with team and coach expectations. For example, is the child able to manage their equipment on their own? Does the child require assistance on the chair lift? Is the child able to ski all runs? Does the child ski snow plow style or parallel? Schedule
Training is Saturday and Sunday during ski season. Training is from 8:45 to 2 or 3pm depending on snow conditions and the age of the athlete. Ben Eoin hosts one race a year and travels to races throughout Atlantic Canada. Participation in the Ben Eoin race and one travel race is a good place for youngest athletes to start. Gear
Appropriately sized gear including helmet, goggles, skis, poles and boots are required. Race specific equipment is ideal but may not be required to start, especially for very young athletes. Depending on ability and age additional gear may be required or encouraged. Properly sized and quality equipment is important for athlete safety and skill progression. Costs (subject to change)
Registration Fee $450-$550
Race Card $87.50- $220 depending on age
Timing Chip $100

Race fees and race travel expenses are extra. Ski Passes and membership at Ben Eoin is required and not the responsibility of the team. Volunteer expectations
With such a small club we rely on participation from parent volunteers to make it all work, in particular, for the weekend our club hosts a ski race. Fundraising
There is one main fundraiser a season. Each family is expected to participate. Registration is posted in the fall. There are limited spaces available in December and January. Email communicationsbeneoinskiteam.ca for registration details.

Ben Eoin Ski Team Spirit Survivor is BACK!

Gather your Tribe and play for a chance to "FUEL YOUR SPIRIT" with $$$ Sobeys Gift Cards $$$ - which can be used at any of their banner stores across Canada, including: Sobeys, Needs, Lawtons, Safeway, IGA, Foodland and FreshCo.

This exciting competition will have you on the edge of your chairlift as tribe members get eliminated weekly. Plus, your support helps our BEST athletes in so many ways: replacing worn-out team jackets, purchasing new technology for training analysis, supplying protective and specialized gear for shared use, replacing essential safety equipment like fencing and radios, and ensuring coaches stay trained to Safe Sport standards.

Ready to FUEL YOUR SPIRIT? Here's how it works:

Send your chosen Tribe name, and the first and last names of all five players (over the age of 19) to [email protected].
Only players signed up through the provided email and paid in full will be entered to play. Players can E-transfer $35 individually or make a group payment of $175 ([email protected])

Registration Closes March 20th

Make sure your tribe members are added to our group (Ben Eoin Ski Team Spirit Survivor) to keep up with all the action, including elimination dates and buy-back options.

Pro tip - Do you live in the same household as someone else looking to play? If possible play on different tribes to increase your chances of winning!

Fast sets. Tight lines. No easy turns.

Today’s slalom course was hard, fast, and demanding from the first gate to the finish. Conditions asked a lot, and our athletes answered every run with effort, focus, and determination.

Big shoutout to Maggie, Reid, Murray, Zoe, Macy, and Violet for putting it all on the hill and skiing with confidence and grit in a challenging race environment.

A huge thank you to Coach Aaron and Coach Shane for the dedication, patience, and countless hours guiding this team every step of the way throughout the Brunner weekend. Strong athletes are built through steady leadership and support.

Three days. Changing conditions. Full effort, every run. We are so proud of you all!
