After a long search I was able to find history of Great Grandpa Joe Apsassin.

Jan 13 1883- Lesser Slave Lake: Apsassin (Small) was a first class hunter, especially Beaver, which was scarce in that area.

June 29 1899 Dr Potts and party started for Hudson Hope. Joe Apsassin went with them.

August 11 1899 Engage Joseph Apsassin as a man. Could mean grandpa became guide for the VIPs such as the Treay Commissioner.
