Keep in mind that the totals can differ wildly from what YOU will pay. You can mix and match tiers, find deals, source equipment from other sports, buy used.
There are plenty of options out there.

HEMA GEAR! THINGS YOU NEED! 1/2

Although I'll initially provide all you need, eventually you'll need to invest in your own gear. HEMA gear can be really cheap(compared to other sports), or it can be very expensive. The choice is yours.
Inevitably you'll spend more, and more, the further you go in your career.
You can start with the minimal, cheap gear.
But...
Eventually, you'll have at least 1 of everything.
I'm going to break it down for you.

WHAT YOU NEED TO START TRAINING
1: Sword/sword like object FREE
This can be a plastic training sword, steel feder, wooden waster, DIY PVC sword, or even a stick. To do solo drills, you just need something resembling a sword in dimensions and proportions.

WHAT YOU NEED TO COME TO "CLASS"
1: Groin protector CHEAP
As far as gear goes just to come try it out, you don't even need a groin protector, but to spar you need one.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SPAR (plus price ranges)
1: Sword

2: Mask with back of head protection

3: Protective gloves

I know some of you will want to get your own gear, your budget allocation, and gear goals will inevitably change over the course of your HEMA career, I sure know mine have in the 10 years since I've started historical fencing.
