Northern Elite Football

Northern Elite Football Northern Elite Football is a non-profit organization that aims to help youth build skills on and off The Power of Sports in the Community! Sports saved my life.

Our goal is to expand the football community within Wood Buffalo and engage the youth in organized sports. Studies have shown that participating in organized sports from an early age has helped develop a variety of skills including teamwork, leadership, self esteem, self discipline, and many more. Unlike other sports, football is inclusive of all shapes and sizes of kids to participate and play a

key role in the success of the team and ultimately their future. NFL Draft prospect Lynden Trail explains in an article to Detroit Free Press“I never thought that football would take me this far, I was just a kid that was really pretty much looking for something to do. Football saved my life. Kept me out of a lot of trouble, kept me around a lot of positive people. And coming from the rough neighborhood that I'm from in Overtown, Miami, Fla., you need a lot of other things to keep you focused, and sports really did that for me." This is the reality for thousands of kids across the nation including Co-Founders Kwame Osei and Dylan Elias, who grew up in poverty stricken environments and managed to find a way out through football. Understanding how the sport helped them, they have a passion to assist in creating these opportunities for kids as a way to give back to the community. Therefore, Saleem Farhat, Kwame Osei and Dylan Elias partnered together and created Northern Elite Football.
