Big changes are coming to hockey in Fort McMurray.
The McMurray Gentlemen’s Hockey League (MGHL) is officially re-branding to the Fort McMurray Adult Hockey League (FMAHL) beginning in the 2026–27 season.
New name. New look. Same passion.
This re-brand represents the continued growth of adult recreational hockey in our community while maintaining the same competitive, community-driven league our players have built over the years.
We’re excited for the future of hockey in Fort McMurray and can’t wait to welcome everyone to the next chapter of the FMAHL.

The MGHL is proud to announce a new partnership with the Fort McMurray Women’s Hockey League (FMWHL), launching in the 2026–27 winter season 🏒

This new league will provide a structured, competitive space for women’s adult recreational hockey in Fort McMurray, with Monday night games at North Side Twin Arena.

The response has been incredible—48 players and 4 goalies registered in just 8 days! With leadership in place, jerseys designed, and sponsors secured, the league is already off to a strong start.

We’re excited to support the growth of hockey in our community and look forward to welcoming the FMWHL for their inaugural season. Full news story available at the below link.
