We are deeply saddened and shocked to share that Harshwinder Singh Cheema (our beloved Harsh Paji) passed away on March 23 due to a sudden heart attack.

He was part of Kings XI during the 2024 season, and beyond the game, he was known as a truly genuine person—a kind soul, a true gentleman, and someone who cared deeply for everyone around him. He had a pure and honest heart that touched so many lives.

Last year, he was overjoyed when his family joined him in Canada in June. It meant everything to him, as his dream was to build a better future for them.

In my last conversation with him, he shared that he was waiting for his immigration process to be completed and was hopeful about returning to Fort McMurray for a full-time opportunity.

Sadly, life had other plans. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing him can attest to the incredible person he was.

While he may not have been able to fulfill all his dreams, it is now up to us—as his extended family and community—to come together and support his loved ones in any way we can, so his wife and children never feel alone during this difficult time.
