HEIPEL, Scott – It is with heavy hearts but profound gratitude for a life lived with boundless joy that the family of Scott Heipel announces his passing on May 9, 2026 at Wellington Terrace in Fergus, Ontario. Born on February 12,1976, Scott was the cherished and only son of Ron and Jane Heipel.

Over the month of March, Fergus Phantoms athletes participated in Special Olympics Polar Plunges. 🥶

At the Waterloo Plunge, 11 team members raised $1,680.

Ryan went above and beyond, participating in 3 Polar Plunges- Hamilton, Peel, and Shelburne raising an incredible $24,830!

🎉 Congratulations to all the Phantoms for bravely jumping into the cold water in support of such a great cause! I can’t wait until next year💜 🥶 💙

We are looking for your help! Guelph Special Olympics is pleased to announce we have 33 Athletes that will represent Team Ontario at the 2026 National Games held in Medicine Hat Alberta Aug 9-16th!
Waterloo Regional Police will be hosting a polar plunge and you can Plunge for Guelph Wellington Special Olympics. When you register yourself or part of a team please specify Guelph Wellington and the proceeds will benefit our athletes Fundraising! Maybe you will see Mayor Cam or Chief Cobey ??
