There will be NO CLASSES on Monday, May 18. In addition, we will not be running Friday morning (15th) 10:10 AM class or the 11:00 AM Seniors - we know changes to routine aren’t always ideal, and we appreciate your understanding as our team takes a bit of time to recharge🫶🏽

As we head into the long weekend and the shift into spring, it’s a great reminder that growth doesn’t always happen in the grind—it happens in the recovery too. 🌸The grass is getting greener, the days are getting longer, and it’s the perfect time to reset, get outside.

“Progress isn’t just built in the hard sessions—it’s built in the balance.”

It is never too late to start prioritizing YOU.

* A long-term study of women found those with high cardiovascular fitness in midlife were ~88–90% less likely to develop dementia decades later.
* In that same research, fitter women who did develop dementia experienced it ~10–11 years later (around age 90 vs. 79).
* Women who exercised intensely several times per week had about a 57% lower risk of dementia/Alzheimer’s in another long-term cohort study.

Sounds like a good enough reason for me.

Stability work is the unsexy stuff no one wants to do.
That being said, Melissa does look pretty sexy here 😉.

Your core is not just there for aesthetic purposes.
It’s literally what connects everything.

If that connection is off, it can show up like:

– wobbling during simple movements
– lifts feeling weird for no reason
– random back tightness from doing absolutely nothing dramatic
– looking strong but feeling lowkey uncoordinated

Slowing down. Single-leg anything. Holding positions that make you frustrated. Moving in ways that aren’t just “up and down fast.”
It can be very humbling.
And it’s also what actually gets you connected to your body again.

Also it’s just fun to try different things and challenge yourself every once in a while.

Thank you STM for choosing to work with us and help guide your students. The Fitness & Weight training CTF class is learning all things fitness. 💪

Today was a Yoga class.
Having some challenging fun exploring different poses and movement.

Over the next month they will get to experience using the main gym area and different types of equipment, Yoga, Pilates, and a group fitness class. They will also be learning about what education looks like if they decide to go down that path after high school.

We look forward to all of it. We really hope this helps the future generations discover a love of movement and everything it can do for you. 💪❤️

being strong but stiff, tired, and constantly dealing with little aches? That’s not the goal.

A lot of people are out here training like athletes…but living like regular humans with jobs, stress, bad sleep, and long days.
Your program should actually support that life.
You still need strength, obviously. But you also need to be able to:

– move without feeling tight all the time
- get up off the floor without thinking about it.
- go for a walk/run/play a sport without dying.
– not tweak your back picking something random up.

That comes from mixing things in like,
strength + mobility + control + some conditioning + actual recovery

Not just maxing out 3x a week and calling it balance.

The goal isn’t to just be strong in the gym. It’s to feel good in your body… all the time.
💪
