Just 21 seconds into the period, #8 Noah Mathieson puts Essex up by 2 to keep the momentum rolling.

#24 Jaksen Ward brought the Sharks within 1 at 12:37. And the 3s hang onto the lead after a would-be tying goal is called back 🔥

An explosive period to start off the night💥

The 3s started the game with a pair of goals scored by #29 Ethan O’Neil and #3 Colby Cookson.

Even when the Sharks managed to tie it up with goals from #7 Hayden Klem and #9 Austin Fraser, Essex didn’t let them tilt the ice.

1:04 after the Sharks tied it up, #17 Adrian Bosev put the 3s back in the lead.

The Essex 73's would like to congratulate Andrew Baker on signing with the Guelph Storm of the OHL!!

Guelph Storm General Manager George Burnett announced today that 2025 ninth-round pick Andrew Baker has signed an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the hockey club.

The 6’0, 175 lbs forward has had a tremendous start to his 2026-27 campaign with the GOHL’s Chatham Maroons. Baker recorded two goals and six assists for eight points in his first two games while also being named GOHL Prospect of the Week in the first week of the season. In his first season of junior hockey in 2025-26, the right winger notched 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points in 42 games for the PJCHL’s Essex 73’s and added another seven points in 12 playoff games. The forward from Woodslee, Ontario was originally selected 165th overall in last year’s OHL Priority Selection.
