A question we get all the time is “do you need to know how to swim to rent a canoe?”. 🏊 🛶

The answer: You do not! The nice thing about our section of river is that it’s very calm and shallow. It’s so shallow that you’d be able to stand up in 95% of the area. You are also provided with PFDs and given tips on how to paddle correctly to avoid any accidental spills.

If you haven’t heard, we are open for our 4th season! 🎉🛶

We are a beginner and family friendly canoe/kayak rental company located in the heart of beautiful Elora. We offer 45 min rentals to take a relaxing paddle upstream to Bissell Falls, along ancient limestone cliffs covered in 400 million year old fossils, and then back to our cute little dock.

Book ahead online or walk up! Open 6 days a week ☀️

$28 + tax per canoe rental.
$20 + tax per kayak rental (we only have 2 solo kayaks).

📣Calling all locals of Centre Wellington! 🛶

For the first time ever we are offering a “Pay What You Want Locals Only Membership”. We believe that you as locals of CW deserve affordable access to the beautiful nature we have in our community.

This membership entitles your family to 1 canoe or 2 solo kayak rentals per day for Tuesdays-Fridays all season long, as well as any weekends before Canada Day and after Labour Day. The rentals are only valid at our location in downtown Elora beside The Cellar Pub & Grill. They are max 1hr rentals during weekdays and 45 mins on weekends. It’s great for families looking to introduce their kids to paddling, date nights, or a slow solo paddling meditation. The paddling area is between Bissell Falls and the pedestrian bridge.

Our core hours will be 2pm-sunset on weekdays and 9am-sunset on weekends. We aim to open May 29th.

There are a limited number of these memberships available. If you would like to secure yours, you’ll need to send us an email at [email protected] letting us know you’re interested in a membership. If there is still space we will get you to send us a photo of a valid ID to prove your local address and then instructions on how to make payment. You will be given a membership number that you can use when you book a boat online. You can also walk up on a first come first serve basis.

WE ARE NOW OPEN FOR OUR 3rd SEASON! 🥳

Currently open 10am-4pm (last rental at 3:15pm) for the next few weekends.

First come first serve, but we’ll have our booking site open soon so you can book ahead for our busy months of July/August.

Warm weather has us thinking about paddling season! 💭☀️🛶

Due to planned construction on East Mill Street, we will only be open weekends this summer. During July & August we will be open most weekends Friday- Sunday + holiday Mondays.

We plan to be open for May Long Weekend so we’ll see you on the river soon!

It’s the last long weekend of the summer — time to make it count! ☀️

⭐ Canoe the Grand River with the Elora Paddle Company
