With the captains interviews concluded. And Mr. Nantz needing to catch a flight back to call the final 2 Rounds of the BMW Championship, we managed to catch Jim out on the course before he headed back and asked him his thoughts on what might happen heading into today. This is what he had to say.
“After speaking with both Mac and Garyn over the past couple days, first off they are both storied individuals, real stand up guys, I think anything could happen come Saturday, both teams are evenly matched, and anything is possible in this format, I think it’s anyone’s tournament to win!”
When asked how he thought the course would shape up he had this to say.
“I had the opportunity to walk the course just as the grounds crew was finishing up. They have done a fantastic job and have presented the players with a very getable course that will reward aggressive play but severely punish mistake, players will need to be sharp. Further to the course it was fantastic to see the chokecherries ripened up. I sampled a few handfuls and am even taking some back home to make some jam once the PGA season wraps up!”
When asked for his final thoughts on the day Jim pondered for a moment and offered up;
“Nothing beats the atmosphere, it’s like the excitement of the Ryder Cup combined with the charm of The Masters. Every shot matters. You either rise to the occasion or crumble under the pressure.
Buckle up, it’s Saturday morning, and The Sand Green Cup is here!”
