💁🏻‍♀️ And giving their house a facelift.
Not too shabby for a free shed that cost us the windshield on our tractor 🚜 when we picked it up.
Insulation, vapour barrier, plywood, nesting boxes and a roost skidded into a spot that looked like an old chicken run.
Calling that good enough for year 1.
We had Cluckingham Palace, and the Turkmahal…

Welcome to the Hen Den, Motherclucker HQ of this lil slice of paradise. 🤣

Who remembers these classy classics?!
Gosh it hits us in the feels seeing some of the original mugs still bouncing down dusty trails to camp sites.
On top of that- this picture brings an extra level of nostalgia back for us from our trip across Canada on our own bikes.

The question is- should we bring back a limited edition of the old Hussey’s Hooks logo mugs? Maybe upgrade to a fly jig instead? Or just relish in the beauty of knowing they’re still adventuring around across North America?

We’re still working on a rebrand name over here. Settling into our new scene and trying to wrap the farm, adventure and coffee under one umbrella…

Thanks for the photo

Some kind of spring nostalgia. My hometown hosts the world’s largest single day Maple Syrup Festival the first weekend of April every year. “Sapfest” is what the locals refer to it as. Today is all about Maple Syrup, way touch food and miles of walking the events, vendors and activities. We’re over 4500 kms away from there now, but that will never stop me from drowning everything in liquid tree gold.
It’s also officially Iced Coffee Season here in NW BC, Camp Blend (roasted with maple syrup) with a drizzle of the sweet stuff on top and whole milk?
🍁Heck ya 🍁

Festival du sucre d’érable as it is commonly referred to by the French in Alberta incorporates all the lumber jack activities and maple taffy eating often done over Easter weekend with family and friends.

Spring is such a season of renewed joy! Hope y’all got outside today

Just over here doing life, one day at a time.
Did something for me today, went and watched the sunrise with the dogs and some Camp Blend Coffee.

Sometimes, we just need to slow down for a minute, to process, to ground and snuggle your critters because the world is fast, competitive and there is a lot of toxicity torture out there. We live in this era where we idolize burn out, let’s start idolizing a slower start to the day where we can go enjoy creation ❤️
