“Thank you to Ranchlands School for sharing these beautiful drums with us as we continue to learn, listen, and connect during National Indigenous History Month.

Through drumming, students explored the power of rhythm, storytelling, and community. Many cultures around the world have a connection to the drum, and in many Indigenous communities, the drum holds deep cultural, spiritual, and ceremonial significance. Each beat reminds us of the importance of respect, connection, and learning from one another.

We are grateful for opportunities to experience and honour Indigenous ways of knowing and being, and we extend our sincere thanks to Mahegun Tails Inc. and Ranchlands School for helping make this meaningful learning possible. ❤️🪶🥁”

Repost • Shifting from the classroom to the Rocky Mountain foothills gave School of Public Policy students an opportunity to embrace experiential learning and Traditional Knowledge as part of their education about public policy development while navigating complex economic, environmental and social realities.

Students visited the Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area southwest of Calgary on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy. The setting offered a powerful backdrop for reflection and discussion.
