We would like to congratulate Master Yagi Meitatsu on his recent recognitions.
Master Yagi Meitatsu has over many years, dedicated himself to the preservation and transmission of traditional Okinawan karate.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions and to the global promotion of this art, he has been awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, with Gold Rays with Rosettes
We are delighted that he has been awarded these three awards: The Higashikuninomiya Cultural Award, Commemorative Award and Peace Award.
Also Master Yagi Meitatsu has recently been nominated as a Designated Prefectural Intangible Cultural Property Holder.
All of your students, offer our heartfelt congratulations with the deepest respect.
The spirit of karate that sensei teaches every day transcends the realm of martial arts and emphasises Courtesy and Character above all else. It embodies the spirit of Okinawa, 'Land of Courtesy’, which values and cherishes peace, and sincerity. These achievements have made a profound impression both at home and abroad. This prestigious triple award and the prefectural recognition is truly the culmination of Master Yagi’s ceaseless dedication to his art and to his noble character. It is a source of immense pride for me and all his students.
Finally, we wish Master Yagi Meitatsu good health and continued instruction to the International Meibukan Goju-ryu Karate-do Association
