Getting ready for winter paddling, putting the skirts on our OC6s. We needed them today in this rain. We got soaked regardless but still a very fun paddle. 🌧️ 🥶

The Maple Bay Sea Stars team competed today at the Latitude 48 Bridges Outrigger Race, in Victoria, BC. We had more than a respectable time of 32:05.

The clouds parted only for a brief moment but that didn't stop our enthusiasm for having a great day out on the water!

The tides, wind and weather were perfectly aligned for a paddle into Booth Inlet on Saltspring Island. It is a magical place for sure!

I took a short video of the log barge during our paddle yesterday to try and capture the immensity and seeming precarious balance of the logs. As you can appreciate, taking a video while paddling is also a balancing act. 😁 From a distance, we could see a big plume of black smoke and had no idea where it was coming from--it was from the crane that was on the barge.
