💥There are a few ranch updates!💥

▪︎People have been asking me for a really long time for some swag and promotional things to wear and I really don't know why I never did it before all these years, but I finally did it! It is on it's way and will be here shortly!! Thank-you to Grey Horse Clothing and Dusti Henwood for completely knocking it out of the park!! It looks amazing you guys!

▪︎Training series video for Fury- Apologies on the delay getting this out...the next video/session was 55 minutes long because Fury had a real hard day in the wind 😆 and sometimes you have to be real patient with a horse as they are learning to figure things out. However, it is taking me awhile to trim this down into a way that isn't paint drying as working with colts sometimes can be, while making sure I keep the teachable content!

▪︎Foals and prospects for offer: we have a few barrel racing bred prospects for offer, as well as two foals. All of these horses are fully incentivized. Deposit holds foals until weaning. Come out and see what we have!

▪︎I have also been getting asked when I can get back to doing lessons and things again. I have started to coach a few people as time allows, but I will probably get back to doing a bit more regularily every 2 weeks or so right now. So if you are interested and have needed or wanted a little bit of coaching and some lessons reach out to me!

▪︎Lastly-outside horses-I've been getting asked when I can take horses again. As I want to balance the care and time with my son yet, while also keeping the passion going, I am going to open for just a few spaces starting for June. Connect with me if you are needing time on your horse:
○Barrel patterning and competing
○ Show ring prep and training
○Starting
○ Miles, seasoning, and general training.

Thanks for supporting me as I grow! I have always ran this as a part-time gig, but now with my son and seeing how much he loves this life and horses too I would love to grow this more. ❤️

Ok thanks for reading my newsletter. 😆

If you can't lead at least 6 horses at once to the pasture across the road, most of them being firebreathing dragons, are you really even an apprentice? 😆

Sorry Jayden, had to 😆.

For real though, I have alot of updates to share, stay tuned! 💥

A special little cowboy went to his very first rodeo this past weekend. ❤️👢

I barely caught the backside of second barrel on a 13.63 which would have been a 3 way tie for 6th hole at a major tour Canadian Cowboys Association Rodeo...I did attempt a leg lift, but was a bit too late! This was my second run back on Jethro since having John almost 5 months ago, so I am still pretty happy about that!

Sharing this life with my son and seeing how much he enjoyed it was the real cake though. ❤️...I could be losing Jethro to the roping pen in the future!

I chose this Luke Combs song because I sing it to John almost everyday. 😊

Alot of times we get really caught up in trying to find the easiest way to life and live...
We let me tell you, there is no easy way to life. The grass is simply the greenest where you water it, not on the other side. Each choice is hard, it is only made beautiful and rewarding because of the work we put in. Be prepared for the work you will need to put in to get a result you want.

Happy Riding! 🍃

Enjoy our next set of good news! 💥

The second Sandy Pines foal arrived May 20, 2026 at 3:45 AM! This one is extra special because his mom is French Moon Chic aka Royal! ❤️

If you're new here or new to me, Royal is no stranger to competing...let me introduce you to her. She was my first competitive horse back into it after I returned to this all in 2012. I bought her as a weanling in 2014. She was known for her extremely turny and fast abilities, and when she was on her game she easily won rodeos and huge jackpots with hardley even trying. One of my notable major big barrel race wins with her was at The Big Bang in her derby year during covid, where she placed me in the top 12 of The Big Bang Derby Average. This year there were over 1,000 entries; she outran over half the race. Another year at The Big Bang at Sundre in a smoke-filled air from forest fires, she ran me mid to low 17's on a standard pattern to win me the Reserve 1D win at the warm-up, and again to put me in the top 10 at The Big Bang Derby here with a blazing run on Day 2. She also won me semi-professional rodeos with the Canadian Cowboys Association; in her first year of rodeo, we didn't start entering until July and in just two rodeos she was able to launch us into the top ten of the CCA Standings with earnings from some of the major tour rodeos. I was going to go pro with her.

When I trained her I was experimenting with a style of training that was "less broke", and I really struggled with that type of riding. It was what led me to return to my extremely body broke ways, where I immediately started having lots of success again. Marci Laye coached me alot with her, and helped me figure out how to train and ride turny horses like her, and after that we started winning LOTS again. I learned so much from Royal and all of that has made me a better rider, a better jockey, and a WAY better trainer because of her. She is an incredibly talented competitor (that is why I bought Fury). I can't wait to share her offspring with the world.

Welcome her first baby, Mr. Bond! He is sired by Sekret Agentman (Fury of the Wind x dtr of Treis Seis), and out of French Moon Chic (Perks French Cash x Monisa Six Moon). If you don't know who the FOTW horses are yet, you might want to look up FuryTyme aka Puma and Three Times the Fury aka Sway who are owned by Fallon Taylor and trained by Tricia Aldridge. Thank-you Zilver Performance Horses for making this possible. ❤️

Just a kind reminder-if you are from India, Africa, or some country that has nothing to do with horses and your profile looks sketchy, you will be removed from the page. So please don't add yourself or message me weird things. Thanks. ✌️

Here's a throwback video for a rainy, wet May long weekend to enjoy! 🌧🌧🌧

A throwback to 2012 to my old boy Scotty winning an amateur rodeo by 4 seconds in the rain and boggy mud!!! The next fastest was a 16 second. This dirt was so wet it was like running in a bog and jiggled when you walked on it! We made the finals that year. This was my first year back rodeoing again after getting my degree...I didn't even have my own trailer yet and would borrow my sister's or travel with others!

Alot of people now would have never seen Scotty in his prime days. He was pretty incredible, and if I knew then what I know now I often wonder how much better we would have been!

Enjoy this throwback to the legend; my good ole Scotty boy! ❤️

Working with Fury continued: 💥
Establishing a relationship.

I had trouble posting this video earlier (needed to do a cloud upload). This video is from the middle of April, just before the snowstorm...I didn't know I was running out of storage then, so what isn't caught on film is me being ponied around on her after with my spouse, which would have been cool to see. Storage is back now.

If you are new to following this series I am doing with Fury, she is an exceptionally talented horse, but she is a little explosive and opinionated at times, and I am JUST returning from having a child almost 5 months ago. I thought it would be good to do a training documentation as I come back to the trainer life and show how I get some of my approaches in...and so you know that I can still ride! I also have my son to inspire now too. 😊

Hope you enjoy my series and training tips I am doing with Fury for FREE, and I hope you are able to learn something from my approach. I would love to make this type of stuff into a subscriber option one day on my page, so please like, react, and comment to help me reach my goal! ✊️😍

Check in again next week for the next video!
