Dryden Last Chance Hockey Tournament Season ending men's and ladies rec hockey tournament at the end of March every year in Dryden. No prizes, no trophy just games, goals and good times.

That's a wrap on Last chance. All teams paid in full and we kept things pretty close to on time. Thanks to everyone who played in the tournament and thank you to the referees. I will post photos of the winners tonight, need to get outside for some sunshine first!

Men's 45+ : VooDoo started strong and held a shutout lead for much of the first half. Kenora NHL battled back to bring it within 1 late in the second half. VooDoo clinched it with an empty netter with 16 seconds left.

45+ final : VooDoo defeats Kenora NHL 6-4

Women's : This game featured strong goaltending at each end and many shots for each team that hit the post. Dryden Inferno scored early and added an insurance goal late in the first half. Shoal Lake Flyers regrouped and came out strong in the second half but had some unlucky bounces around the net. An exciting contest between two teams that had strong round robin performances.

Dryden Inferno defeats Shoal Lake Flyers 2-0

Men's 35+ : Dragoons scored early and Atikokan responded right away to keep the game at a close 1-1 score. Dragoons scored with 4 minutes left in the game to take the lead. Atikokan pulled their goalie with 1:20 left and capitalized to tie it at 2-2 with 1 minute left. Game went to a shootout where only 1 player scored and it was for the Dragoons. An exciting contest that featured competitive play and evenly called penalties.

Friday, March 27 1am update - Please take a look at the updated schedule - There have been changes. I will try to get in touch with everyone in the morning to confirm they have seen the updates. The teams playing friday have been informed of change in game time if there was one. The one thing we will need help with this weekend is running the score clock - Please sign up in the tournment room.

March 20 Update - We are looking forward to seeing everyone for the 2026 Dryden Last chance tournament, March 27, 28, 29. In true last chance fashion, I am waiting on a couple last teams to confirm with me today before I can finalize a schedule. I can confirm :

A full field of 6 womens teams paid in full
Multiple 35+ and 45+ mens teams have paid/ confirmed.

Team reps who have not yet paid can e transfer $600 to [email protected]. Teams who have paid, I will deposit the etransfers tonight (sorry I have not yet).

I will post another update tonight (March 20)

Any outstanding questions, please text me at 807-220-1145. I will be on the road to Kenora and back today, so my response may be delayed. (car service at Kenora Honda)
