ROWAN’S LAW DAY

Today, Hockey Northwestern Ontario recognizes Rowan’s Law Day and the importance of concussion awareness, education and prevention in sport.

Concussions can happen to anyone. Knowing the signs and symptoms, speaking up when something doesn’t feel right, and allowing proper time to recover are important steps in helping keep participants safe.

Hit. Stop. Sit.

If a concussion is suspected, stop participating and seek appropriate medical assessment before returning to play.

By continuing to learn, recognize the signs and take concussions seriously, we can all help create a safer sport environment for everyone.

Learn the signs. Speak up. Play safe.
