Dresden Lawn Bowling Club

Dresden Lawn Bowling Club Lawn bowls provides a social fun atmosphere for all ages. It's a great social game to get out and meet people from different clubs in the area.

Often compared to curling or bocche ball, bowls shares the same concept of the team closest to the target (called a "jack") scores a point or multiple points. As well, it can be as competitive as you like, competing at district level, earning the right to represent district 1 at the Provincial level, and possibly even at the Canadian level. One of our own members, Erin Roth (28) even bowls at the

international level, travelling worldwide representing Canada, one of her highlights was the Commonwealth games in Delhi, India in 2010.

The Dresden Lawn Bowling Club would like to send a BIG congratulations to Tom Roth for being this year’s recipient of the Volunteer of the Year for District 1!🙌🎉👏

We appreciate all the time & effort Tom puts into our club but it is so great to see others in the district appreciate all he does for the sport of lawn bowling as well.

Tom is not only our club president, but he also keeps our greens in great shape, runs our tournaments, bakes for events, umpires & is always willing to share his wisdom & tips to help others improve too.

Thank you Tom for all you do! We can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award than you!

Thank you to everyone that came out to our Burger & Bowls Open House yesterday!! Mother Nature cooperated & we had a great afternoon.

Also a big thank you to all our club members that volunteered & helped make the afternoon a success. 💚

If you were unable to make the open house, but are interested in giving lawn bowling a try come to the greens any Monday or Thursday at 6:30 pm. You get 3 free try’s before deciding if you would like to join or not.😉
