I’m so excited to be taking the stage at The Wellth Summit this September.

This year’s theme is UNCENSORED, and the room is being curated for women ready to stop diluting their ideas, opinions, presence, and power and start expressing themselves in a way that expands what they can be known for and paid for.

The main summit is Friday, September 18 at TD Terrace in downtown Toronto.

Here’s the reality of being a founder…

I was about to head off grid camping for 5 days. We stopped in to see the giant goose in Wawa, Ontario, because who WOULDN’T?! 😂

And right before this photo was taken I get a text from my assistant…

Letting me know that someone who was going to give us a testimonial backed out of doing it.

If you’re a business owner you know the value of having that social proof.

In that moment I could notice my nervous system start to fire up. My heart beating fast, that bit of dread in my stomach.

Did I do something wrong? I thought she really enjoyed working together. She had great results why wouldn’t she share.

I was making it about me, when really she was just scared to be seen.

So in that moment I leaned on my tools. A part of me was scared, I had to bring that part back into safety. When I did that my system settled down and I saw it for what it was…just part of running a business.

That is what I teach female founders & leaders to do. Because being able to bring your body back into safety is a super power.

It allows you to show up calm, grounded, and as the true leader you’re meant to be.

It’s been 1 year since Ive had a drink 🎉.

I wouldn’t say I had a problem with alcohol, but I wouldn’t often overindulge and then feel crappy the next day…physically but also mentally.

I didn’t feel like my best self when I wasted a Sunday laying on the couch hungover.

So it wasn’t a hard line when I stopped drinking but I wanted to see how long I could last and all of a sudden it’s been a year 🗓️.

I’m not sure if I’ll ever drink again but at this point I’m feeling pretty damn good without it ✌️.

🤫 Can we just say the quiet part out loud for a second?

You chose a non-traditional path. Being an entrepreneur AND not having kids?
It’s a whole different level of looking around and realizing there isn’t really a roadmap for the life you’re trying to build 🗺️.

And everyone (including the voice in your own head) has told you at some point that you should be able to handle more because of it.

“You have so much freedom.”
“You have so much time.”
“You have no idea how easy you have it.”

And maybe you even believed it 🤷🏻‍♀️.
So you took on more, and worked longer hours.
I mean, you had no excuse not to. Right?!

✨ ✨✨
But here’s what nobody is saying out loud:
When you don’t have kids, the business becomes the thing that consumes you instead.
✨✨✨

It becomes the first thing you think about when you wake up and the last thing on your mind before you sleep.

It gets your best energy
Your worst anxiety
Your 2am spirals
Your Sunday dread

It may not be a child. But some days it feels like it needs you just as much.

And the loneliest part?
You can’t really say that out loud. Because you chose this. Because you’re “supposed” to be grateful. Because at least you don’t have kids, right?

So you keep going and try to hold it all in.

But you didn’t build this business to feel stressed out and owned by it. You built it for freedom.
And that’s exactly what’s possible to create.

Being a child-free entrepreneur comes with a lot of freedom…

Buttttt there are also challenges that don’t get talked about very often.

You can absolutely love your business and STILL feel isolated sometimes.

You can have flexibility and STILL struggle to switch off.

You can be deeply fulfilled by the path you’ve chosen and STILL wish more people understood what it’s actually like behind the scenes.

Calm that requires a vacation every week is NOT true calm.

There I said it 😳.

If you have a life that isn’t allowing you to fully recharge then the underlying issue is your NERVOUS SYSTEM.

If you take time off but just immediately feel overwhelmed and stressed out when you come back then we need to change the programming that’s in there.

It needs to be rewired so you can:

Slow down
Truly reset
Be more creative
Show up fully for your clients and the people you serve

And it’s totally possible.
