自幼在祖父的體育會中成長，耳濡目染之下，對武館文化建立了深厚情感。武館不僅是習藝之所，更重視尊師重道、紀律修養與彼此間的深厚情誼，形成如家人般緊密連結的傳承體系。
移居加拿大後，這份植根心中的武館精神始終如一。在袁富基師傅的帶領下，卡加利獅藝會秉承武館理念與深厚底蘊，致力將龍獅文化在本地社區持續傳承與發展。
袁富基師傅所承傳的，皆有根有源。其所承載者，不僅是技藝，更涵蓋規矩禮法、師徒傳承與團隊精神；一切皆一脈相承，重在根基，貴乎內涵。
本會非學術興趣班，也非單一表演團體，而是以武館制度為本，強調紀律、責任與團隊合作。師兄弟姊妹彼此支持、共進退，在訓練與演出中實踐武館文化的核心價值；不僅提升技術，更磨練品格與態度。透過龍獅運動，我們將武館精神有序承傳，讓傳統文化在當地社區生生不息、薪火相傳。
Having grown up in my grandfather's martial arts association, I was immersed from a young age in the culture of the martial association , developing a deep and enduring connection to its values. A martial association is not merely a place to practise martial arts , it also cultivates respect for one's teachers, discipline, and moral character, forging bonds as close as family and a lineage of transmission that carries these values forward.
After moving to Canada, this martial association spirit ,rooted deep within has never wavered. Under the leadership of Sifu Yuen Fu Kei, the Calgary Lion Dance Association upholds the principles and rich heritage of the martial association , committed to preserving and growing dragon and lion culture within the local community.
What Sifu Yuen Fu Kei carries forward has clear roots and origins. His inheritance encompasses not only technical mastery but also ritual propriety, the master-disciple relationship, and team spirit all transmitted in an unbroken lineage, grounded in foundation, and rich in substance.
Our association is neither an interest class nor a performance troupe alone ,it is built on the martial association system, with discipline, responsibility, and teamwork at its core. Brothers and sisters support one another, advancing together, putting the values of martial association culture into practice through both training and performance. We develop not only technique but character and attitude. Through the art of dragon and lion, we pass on the martial association spirit with care and order, so that this living tradition continues to take root and flourish in our community.
