Meet Gabriel Bergeron — aka “SMASH”

Padel FVR’s first and youngest professional signing, Gabriel Bergeron is redefining the future of Canadian padel. Born August 29, 2007, in Montreal, this 190 cm (6’3”) right-hander commands the left side of the court with precision footwork, fearless energy, and a smash so ferocious it’s already becoming legend across Canada—the kind of shot that can turn any rally into a highlight reel.

A young tennis phenom turned padel prodigy, Gabriel’s switch to the sport came naturally. “I caught the Padel Fever (no pun intended) the first time I tried it — and never looked back,” he laughs. In tennis, he could only unleash his overhead on serves or the occasional missed lob. In padel, with the glass and endless opportunities to attack, he found his true playground — and a sport built for his power and flair.

Now officially representing Padel FVR as Canada’s youngest professional padel player, Gabriel draws inspiration from his idol Agustín Tapia, mirroring the Argentine’s creativity, control, and charisma on court. His explosive style, confidence beyond his years, and game-changing overheads make him one of the most electrifying new names in the sport.
