I began weight lifting at 11 years old. My first gains were at the age of 14 years old. At 6' 2" I weighed 145 lbs, I officially joined a gym and began body building in 1988. As time passed I became more serious about training consistently and attending. In 1990 i Gained 100 pounds "tastefully" and natural. My ultimate goal was 300 lbs. In 1994 I weighted 275 lbs and was the biggest shapley body in the gym. I measured, 19 inch neck, 58 inch chest, 23 inch arms, 38 inch waist, 30 inch legs,
(1 leg). The knowledge I acquired during bodybuilding is not limited to hard core bodybuilding but can be applied at any level to improve fitness levels. Bodybuilding is a highly competitive sport with many untold training secrets, the language for body building hasn't been written as a result of this. The end result is always the same, symmetrically balanced muscle on the entire body. This is why i believe it can be applied at any level and gender.

Knowing where Eccentric Action is occurring during any exercise is more important than just doing the exercise.

Full range of motion, for ā€œALLā€exercises, involves Eccentric and Concentric actions.

If you perform an exercise with limited or short range of motion you are wasting your time.

If you limit your range of motion you remain in the Concentric phase
*
Concentric action during a bicep curl is the lifting action, no muscle building adaptations form as a result of this action!

Muscle building action is formed by controlling the load down!
*
It does not matter how much you can lift, it is more important to be able to control the load on the return...that builds muscle.
