The FUNdamentals basketball program wrapped up last night with a fun tournament hosted at Islands Consolidated School!
5 teams, 61 participants, 15 volunteers take part in this 10 week program for children ages 9-12. The focus is the FUNdamental skills of shooting, passing, dribbling; the goal is fun, confidence, and for basketball to continue as these players move towards junior high.
There is great group of grade 6’s ready for the challenge and an excited group of youngers ready to keep playing! The future of basketball is bright in our community!
The tournament had 5 games and each team played 2. At the end of each game a player from each team was selected as the most sportsmanship and team spirit! Ones that no matter what was happening on the court- cheered on their team, passed the ball, were Smiling and looked like they were having FUN positively contributing to the game!
