Last evening, I had the incredible honour of attending the 2026 Support4Sport Awards Banquet, where I proudly accepted the Nova Scotia Curling Community Sport Organization of the Year Award on behalf of the Digby Curling Club.

Over the past nine years as President, I have made it my mission to bring high-calibre curling events to Digby, and together, our club has accomplished something truly special.

With the dedication and support of our members and volunteers, we have hosted more than 20 Provincial Championships, welcoming provincial, national, and world champions, along with several accomplished Olympians, to our small corner of Nova Scotia.

What makes this achievement even more meaningful is the people behind it. These events simply would not happen without the countless volunteers from both our club and the community who generously give their time, energy, and passion year after year.

Digby has built a reputation for delivering not only outstanding events, but some of the finest hospitality in Nova Scotia, and that is something we should all be proud of.

I would also like to sincerely thank NS Curling for recognizing our efforts and nominating the Digby Curling Club for this award.
For a small club, we continue to prove that we can host top-notch events with the very best of them.

This award belongs to every member, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter who has helped make the Digby Curling Club what it is today.

Don't forget, our AGM Potluck is taking place tomorrow at 630pm. We have some exciting news to share so don't be late!

Elections for executives and directors will be held. Everyone is welcome to attend however only members are eligible to vote.

As we conclude a busy two-week period at the club, we wish to acknowledge and thank everyone who provided invaluable support.

Hosting successive Provincial Championships poses significant logistical challenges, and we were fortunate to have a dedicated team of club members and community volunteers who contributed their time and expertise, with many accumulating dozens and even hundreds of hours over the course of the two events.

We are deeply grateful to our timers, ice makers, bartenders, supervisors, kitchen staff, and all others who played a crucial role in the success of these events. We couldn't do it without you.

What an amazing 5 days of curling right here in Digby NS. This week we hosted the Nova Scotia Men's and Women's Provincial Senior Championship. There was some truly world class curling taking place, a treat for those who came to watch.

After it was all said and done men's Team Flemming took the Championship medal after a tight battle with Team Fox.

On the Women's side Team Arsenault came out on top after a fantastic showing by Team Breen.

Congratulations to all the teams who competed this weekend. We hope your time in Digby was a memorable one, and we can't wait to see you back next year when we host the 2027 Seniors Championship.
