Join us for a dynamic and practical workshop designed to strengthen girls’ participation in sport across New Brunswick.
Drawing from the SIANB resource “Recruiting and Retaining Girls in Sport: Designing Supportive Programs,” we’ll explore what keeps girls on the sidelines and discuss evidence‑informed approaches to designing programs that truly support their needs.
The workshop will also highlight key coaching considerations, such as:
+ creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming training environment;
+ offering developmentally appropriate opportunities;
+ building confidence, autonomy, and leadership in girls;
+ prioritizing fun, belonging, and mental well‑being;
+ involving girls in program planning to ensure their voices guide the experience.
Participants will then engage in a facilitated group activity to share best practices, celebrate successes, explore new opportunities, and openly address challenges. We’ll conclude with a Recruitment and Retention Checklist for Coaches and Leaders - an actionable tool to bring back to your organization to support meaningful, lasting impact.
✨Coaches will receive 3 NCCP Professional Development (PD) points, which count toward NCCP Maintenance of Certification requirements.
