The Fantastic Four

If you’re anything like a comic book nerd like me, then you know who the Fantastic four are and if you don’t, that’s ok… we can still be friends!

The fantastic four are a superhero group that fight some of the biggest and baddest villains in the universe. The group consists of, you guessed it, four fantastic superheroes.

You have ben grime a.k.a the thing… the brute force of the team. Made of indestructible rock and super strong.
Then you have johnny storms a.k.a the human torch he is made of pure fire.
Then you have sue storms, sister of Johnny a.k.a the invisible women. She turns invisible!
And last but certainly not least you have Reed Richard a.k.a Mr. Fantastic… his body is super stretchy and he is the smartest man in the universe.

This team is a powerhouse! Now why am I going all comic book nerdy on you? Because I realized there are four fantastic things you can do to live a better, healthier life.

1- Lift weights and get stronger like the thing!

2- Do cardio and burn those calories like the human torch.

3- Eat clean, because if you don’t you will be like the invisible women, you won’t see the scale go down or see any lasting results

4- Repeat like Mr. Fantastic does when he studies his research, over and over and over again.

This is stuff you have heard before but my comic book nerd brain came out to play today.

I Got BANDS

Why I love resistance bands

They’re

-Affordable
-Space savers

And you

- Can progressively make exercises harder with them (to a point)

-Can do all major movements with them (to a point)

So for the price, for the accessibility, for how relatively safe they are and how many movement options a band set gives you, it makes resistance bands an absolute staple in any remote or home gym that is short on space and money.

Bands are like the poor man's cable machine. It’s not as good as the real thing but it’s a close second.

Dem Bones

We’ve all heard our parents say, “Drink your milk so you can grow big and strong bones.”

But what happens once you're an adult?

Your bones may not grow longer like when you were a kid, but did you know they can still get stronger?

Bones are a lot like muscles—they respond to stress. When you lift weights or do impact-based activities, your bones experience small amounts of stress. In response, your body works to repair and rebuild them, making them denser and more resilient over time.

This process is slower than muscle growth, but the principle is the same: stress + recovery = adaptation.

So when you train your muscles, you’re also training your bones—helping prevent fractures, reducing your risk of osteoporosis, and keeping you strong and mobile as you age.

Don’t just train for muscles. Train for dem bones.

Why is Warming Up Important?

Warming up is just like studying for an exam or test. Why do you study for an exam or test? You study so that you are more prepared for the test/exam. Your workout includes a warm up so that your muscles, joints and mind are more prepared for the high speeds and or loads that your body is going to experience during the power, strength and cardiovascular portions of your workout.

Being more prepared, means you're more likely to do well on the test and get the most of your what you are learning, same thing applies to working out.

Don't skip the warm up.

Both are very similar in how you get and build them.

You start with a little, invest a little consistently over a long period of time and before you know it you have lots of money and health in the bank.

Don’t just invest in the stock market, make sure to invest in your health.

Cravings...

You can have the “perfect diet” but then a craving hits.

Do you ignore it or give into it?

If you ignore it you might be in a state of

“ummmm cookies would be good right now”

If you give into it, you will satisfy that craving and make it go away for a while

That allows you to continue to focus on the main portion of your diet

When a craving hits give in like supertramp

Give in a little bit.

The truth about posture

It's simple...

The worst posture is the one you stay in the longest.

Humans were made to move.

So any position or posture that you stay in the longest will most likely not produce ideal outcomes.

So stop worrying about the “best” posture and start incorporating movement on a daily basis in your work day.

That could be walking, standing up, sitting down, doing squats, lunges, push ups, deadbugs etc.

Keep moving and don't stay in any particular posture for too long.

‘Im busy enough as it is”

The number one reason most people don’t workout is because of time. They don’t have enough time to workout.

Working out doesn’t have to be an all or nothing thing.

Here is your “I’m busy enough as it is” blueprint:

-Always do the warm up
-Don’t skip two workouts in a row
-Do full body workouts

Full body workouts are more efficient and even if you only get one done in a week, you worked your entire body once.

Don’t skip two workouts in a row… This keeps you building the habit of working out.

Always do the warm up… when you don't have time or don't feel like it, do the warm up. Warm ups take 10-15 minutes max. You are getting in the habit of showing up.

Show up… do something and repeat. Overtime working out will be a part of your life.

Supplements can be useful but until you fix the major problems in your diet and lifestyle, they're not worth your money....

Supplements can be useful but until you fix the major problems in your diet and lifestyle, they're not worth your money. Your money can be better spent on, healthier food choices. Remember talk to your doctor before eliminating or implementing any dietary choices
