Deas Island Dance offers dance programs from preschool to preprofessional. We offer ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, breakdance, modern, contemporary, musical theatre, tiny steps, move and groove, storybook ballet, ballet intensive program and Royal Academy of Dance exam preparation. Classes are designed to promote proper dance technique, correct body alignment, fitness, flexibility, musicality and joy of movement.

We are so pleased to announce that Alyssa Borthwick has been awarded her Solo Seal — the Royal Academy of Dance’s highest examination achievement.

This is an incredible accomplishment, and we are beyond proud of Alyssa, who began her exam journey with Deas Island Dance as a young Primary student and now trains in our Extended Training Program. It has been such an honour to be part of Alyssa’s journey.

A heartfelt thank you to the teachers who have guided and supported Alyssa along the way — Ms. Janet Gittens for leading the way alongside Ms. Nicki Wood and Ms. Katie Parks. Thank you as well to Ms. Kelly Douglas for the additional coaching and guidance.

A huge congratulations to Alyssa Borthwick and Emily Stewart who performed in the Royal Academy of Dance Solo Seal this week.

This is an incredible achievement and a true testament to the dedication, discipline, and artistry it takes to reach this level. We are so proud of the grace, strength, and confidence you brought to the stage. Well done on a truly beautiful performance — what a special moment to celebrate!

Thank you to all our ballet teachers who have collectively worked with Alyssa and Emily over their years at D.I.D. from their first days with us in storybook ballet up to this pinnacle moment. Special thanks to Miss Janet and Miss Nicki for their coaching and guidance leading up to this day!

Thank you to all the studio dancers and families who attended and showed such support to Emily and Alyssa - you made the evening even more special!

A heartfelt thank you to the team in Toronto work leading up to this day and for their continued commitment to nurturing and inspiring young dancers.
