Seva | Practice as Service
This week, we shift our lens just a little, from โmyโ practice to โourโ practice as an offering.
In yoga, Seva means selfless service. Not giving to get something back. Not keeping score, but just giving because itโs who you are.
But hereโs the truth; real, sustainable giving doesnโt come from depletion. It comes from wholeness. Because when weโre empty, giving can feel like an obligation, a transaction, as if we need something in return to make it worth it.
And many of us have been there. Where giving felt conditional. Where we overgave, hoping to feel enough. Where we poured from a place of survival instead of alignment.
Seva invites us into something different. To give from overflow, not exhaustion. To move with gratitude for what we already have.To feel the shared energy in the room โ breath by breath. To recognize that your presence here matters
This week in our classes, you may notice small shifts:
- A deeper awareness of the people practicing beside you
- Moments of shared breath
- Gentle reminders of connection and community
Because your practice doesnโt just impact you alone, it ripples outward. The way you show up, the way you breathe, the way you soften - It all matters!
โHow does my well-being ripple outward?โ
And maybe even: โWhat would it feel like to give from fullness instead of lack?โ
When you care for yourself first โ when you feel grounded, supported, whole โ what you offer the world becomes effortless.
Thatโs Seva๐
