Recognized by the Ministry of Community, Sport & Cultural Development as the Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) for golf in the province, British Columbia Golf is responsible for promoting participation in and a passion for the game of golf in BC. British Columbia Golf is also involved in national golf affairs through its affiliation with Golf Canada and the other provincial golf associations. In

ternationally British Columbia Golf is affiliated with the Pacific Northwest Golf Association, the Pacific Coast Golf Association and Junior America’s Cup, as well as being an active member of the International Association of Golf Administrators. British Columbia Golf actively conducts championships, programs and services to help shape the present and future of golf in British Columbia. The development of athletes and coaches, the Playground to Fairway school golf program and the Public Player’s Club are only some of the initiatives British Columbia Golf leads for golf in the province. British Columbia Golf also administers the Rules of Golf, handicapping and course rating. In addition, British Columbia Golf is working in conjunction with the Canadian Professional Golfers’ Association to develop a coaching program.

Six BC golfers are in the field this week at the RBC Canadian Open, bringing a wealth of experience, accomplishments and provincial pride to one of the country’s biggest sporting events.

From Nick Taylor’s historic 2023 RBC Canadian Open victory, to PGA TOUR winners Adam Hadwin and Adam Svensson, to BC standouts Roger Sloan, AJ Ewart and Jeevan Sihota, this group represents the depth of talent developed through British Columbia golf.

Day 1 is in the books, but this championship is just getting started.

The opening round of the BC Women’s Senior, Super Senior, and Super Super Senior Championships provided an early look at the contenders, with two rounds and 36 holes still standing between the field and a provincial title.

Among the storylines to watch: two-time defending Canadian Senior Women’s Amateur champion Shelly Stouffer is looking to capture a seventh consecutive BC Women’s Senior Championship.

BC Golf’s Indigenous Championship is back for its 4th year, and it’s coming to one of the most beautiful corners of British Columbia.

From June 16-18, Indigenous golfers of all ages will come together to compete and connect at Naturally Pacific Resort’s Campbell River Golf Club.

We’re proud to be hosting this year’s championship on the unceded territory of the Ligwiłda’xw people, the We Wai Kai, Wei Wai K*m, and Kwiakah First Nations, and thank them for their generous hospitality!
