2026 Season — Final Chapter

After a very up-and-down season, we came up just short in the championship final.

DLFC 1–1 Rangers
Rangers win 5–4 on penalties

Adeyemi (15th of the season) ⚽️

We found the equalizer in the 80th minute after a great piece of play from Simmons, who played a perfectly weighted pass through to Adeyemi, who made no mistake with the finish.

The Rangers’ goal came from the penalty spot, leaving the game level after 90 minutes and sending us to extra time.

The circumstances made the result even more difficult. We entered the final without seven players — two away with university soccer, two attending hockey training camps, two unavailable through injury, and one serving a suspension. Despite that, this group put together an incredible effort, playing 120 minutes without making a single substitution.

It’s a disappointing way to end the season, especially after getting so close, but there is a lot to be proud of. This team continued to compete through all of the ups and downs and earned another place in the league final.

Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout the season. We’ll be back next year in hopes of competing for a championship again! 🏆

DLFC 4–2 Monarchs (After Extra Time)

For the 2nd consecutive year and the 3rd time in our 8-year history, Deer Lake FC are heading back to the League Championship Final after an absolute thriller against the Monarchs!

Oppong opened the scoring in the 50th minute with an absolute banger of a goal. After the Monarchs levelled, Simmons put us back in front in the 65th minute to make it 2–1.

With the very last play of regulation, the Monarchs found the equalizer from a corner to force extra time.

Then, with just 3 minutes remaining in the first half of extra time, Gale buried the eventual game-winner off a beautiful cross-crease pass from Adeyemi.

Despite us going down to 10 men after a red card in the second half of extra time, Simmons put the dagger in with his 2nd of the night, sealing a massive 4–2 victory and booking our ticket back to the Final.

For the 2nd year in a row, we’ll square off against the defending champions, Curling Rangers, marking the 4th time in the last 5 years we’ve faced them in the playoffs.

Our eyes are set on bringing home our first championship and spoiling the three-peat party.

After a very up-and-down season, we’ve secured the 3 seed and will face the Westside Monarchs in the semifinals.

It’s our first time meeting the Monarchs in the semifinals since 2023, so we’re looking forward to another big matchup.

Ahead of the semifinal, here’s a look at our last five meetings:

SENIOR LEAGUE PLAYOFF BREAKDOWN 🏆

Now that the regular season has come to a close here is a look at the playoff breakdown.

There will be a play-in game this Wednesday, August 19 at 7pm between the 4th place Tactics and the 5th place Clancy's FC.

The winner of that will play the top seeded Rangers in the first semifinal matchup on August 24 at 9pm.

The second semifinal between the 2nd seed Monarchs vs. the 3rd seed Deer Lake FC will take place August 26 at 7pm.

The winner of both semifinal matches will meet for the Championship match on August 29th, time TBD.

All of these matches will be played on Sweetapple Field.

These should all be very entertaining matches!!! Come down and support some of your local soccer players as they battle it out for this year's trophy!!
