As many already know, Raiders Basketball Club will not be operating this year. While our love for the local basketball community remains as strong as ever, we (the Ready family) have made the decision to step away.

We are incredibly proud of what was built over the past few years and so thankful for the athletes, families, and supporters who were part of it.

Where should you go from here? Some of our athletes have moved on to Flight Basketball in Fort St. John as they work to build highly competitive teams and compete at higher levels. Others have remained local with the Dawson Creek Wildcats.

Swan City Basketball (Grande Prairie) is an extremely reputable program, led by coaches who are also involved at the collegiate level with Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves and in elite provincial programs such as the Alberta Summer Games and Arctic Winter Games.

We are excited to see each athlete continue to grow and succeed in the next chapter. Whether you are now a Flight, Wildcat, or Swan athlete, we will always value the time we shared and the memories made as Raiders.

🎉 Raiders Basketball Club – Season Wrap-Up Party Recap 🎉

Last night marked our official end-of-season celebration, and what a night it was! A huge thank you to everyone who came out — and especially to those who helped plan, set up, and ensure everything ran smoothly. It was a beautiful evening spent with our Raiders Family, filled with laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable moments.

One of the highlights (besides the dunk tank!) was watching our all-ages pick-up game, where players from U13 through High School teamed up. It was incredible to see our athletes support one another and make sure everyone had a chance to shine. The culture we are building here is something truly special — and something we can all be proud of.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who played a part in organizing this party: Alisa Tom, Jessyca Tanner, Tracy Short, Lisa Meeres, Justin Ready, and Jenn Regner. These events wouldn’t be possible without your dedication and the continued support of our amazing Raiders parents.

And a big shout-out to Love to Munch Catering for fueling our night with their delicious bannock burgers, poutine, hotdogs, and more — we’re still full!

Our U15 and U16 boys are getting ready to represent Northern BC at BBall Nationals in Langley — but first, they’re taking the floor for their first exhibition games this Sunday!

What a way to wrap up our 2025 spring season!
This weekend, our teams traveled to the Great Canadian Shootout for the final tournament of the year—and what a weekend it was!

💜 U16 Boys - battled hard and finished with a 2-2 record, narrowly dropping one game by just 6 points.

🧡 U15 Boys - had an incredible run, going 3-1 and finishing 3rd out of 20 teams! They lost a close semi-final by only 5 points—just shy of the championship game.

💙 U13 - gave it their all, played with heart, and walked away with some great memories. While the wins didn’t come this time, the experience—including attending a Stingers game as a team—was unforgettable.

This season was about so much more than just the scoreboard. It was about community, character, and commitment.

🙏 To our parents - thank you for everything. The miles you drive, the carloads of kids, the endless snacks, and the enthusiastic cheering never go unnoticed. Your support is the backbone of our club.

🤗To the siblings - thank you for being part of this journey. We see you at the gyms, enduring the long hours, cheering on your brothers and sisters, and being part of the Raider family every step of the way.

🏀 To our athletes - you showed up for each other time and time again. From cheering each other on from the sidelines to giving your all on the court, we couldn’t be prouder of the growth we’ve seen in each of you.

👍🏼 To our coaches - Justin Ready, Lisa Meeres, Tracy Short, Jason Tom, and Jessyca Tanner—thank you for pouring into these athletes. For the hours in the gym, the late nights of planning, and the way you coach not only the game, but the hearts and minds of these kids. You’ve made a lasting impact far beyond basketball.

🎉 Don’t forget—our Raiders Wrap-Up Party is happening July 8th from 5:00–9:00 PM at Mountain Christian School Omega Campus! Join us for a night of celebration, food, fun, and appreciation as we close out the season together.

Many of our Raiders U15 & U16 athletes will also be continuing their season this July as part of the NEBC Selects team, heading down to BBall Nationals in Langley. We wish them all the best as they continue to represent our region with pride!
