June is National Indigenous History Month.

This month, we recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, histories, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. It is a time to learn, reflect, and deepen our understanding of the diverse Indigenous communities that have shaped this land for generations.

The City of Dauphin acknowledges the importance of listening to Indigenous voices, honouring Indigenous knowledge, and continuing the journey toward reconciliation.

Together, let us celebrate Indigenous heritage and commit to building a more inclusive and respectful future.

We are still open during the Pride Parade tomorrow. We may pause while the parade is going by so come celebrate with us!...

We are still open during the Pride Parade tomorrow. We may pause while the parade is going by so come celebrate with us! 🌈🌈🌈

Residents are advised that temporary road closures will be in effect on Saturday, June 13, from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. to accommodate the Pride Parade.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes when possible, and exercise caution in the area as parade participants make their way through the community.

Thank you for your patience and support as we celebrate diversity, inclusion, and pride in Dauphin.

E‑bikes in Riding Mountain National Park: Know Where to Ride 🚲

Thinking about exploring the park by e‑bike? Here are a few simple tips to help you make the most of your ride.

Some e‑bikes can be used on trails if they meet the guidelines:

✅ Pedal‑assist e‑bikes (no throttle) are welcome on all trails where regular bikes can go
❌ Throttle-powered e‑bikes are best suited for roads

A simple way to check:
If your bike moves without pedalling → it’s not for trails

🚫 A few areas are foot‑traffic only:
• Ominnik Marsh Boardwalk
• Gorge Creek Trail
• Bald Hill spur & viewpoint

Ride safely and responsibly:
• Helmets are required for all e‑bike riders
• Riders must be 14+
• Please follow the rules of the road

Sharing the trail:
• Slow down and yield when needed
• Ride with care in busy areas
• Respect other users

Plan ahead:
Make sure your battery will get you back safely.

During Pride Month, the City of Dauphin recognizes and honours Two-Spirit people and the important roles they have held within many Indigenous communities since time immemorial.

Two-Spirit is a term used by some Indigenous people to describe a person whose identity encompasses both masculine and feminine spirits. While meanings vary among Nations, Two-Spirit identities are rooted in Indigenous cultures, traditions, and ways of knowing.

As we continue the journey of reconciliation, we acknowledge the resilience of Two-Spirit people and celebrate their contributions to our community. We remain committed to fostering a Dauphin where all people are treated with dignity, respect, and a sense of belonging.

June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the diversity, strength, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals in our community and across Canada.

Pride is also a reminder of the importance of creating communities where everyone feels safe, respected, valued, and free to be themselves. For many, the journey toward acceptance, equality, and belonging has not always been easy. This month, we recognize the resilience of those who have faced discrimination, exclusion, and barriers, and we reaffirm our commitment to fostering a community where everyone is welcome.

The City of Dauphin believes that our community is strongest when every person feels they belong. By embracing our differences and supporting one another, we help build a more inclusive, compassionate, and vibrant future for all.

Happy Pride Month, Dauphin
