Our programs will utilize Coach House’s 30+ years of hockey experience – including playing and learning from current and former athletes and coaches from the NHL, AHL, ECHL, NCAA, CIS, Major Junior and Hockey Canada – to allow him to share the knowledge he has with your child to assist them in building their confidence, staying active and fit, and improving their hockey skills! KEIFER HOUSE – LEAD
INSTRUCTOR
Coach House’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Recreation degree from Dalhousie University. This degree offered Coach House the opportunity to study sport, its impact on the participants - including the positive educational, social and psychological benefits that sport creates. He was fortunate enough to play in several Atlantic and National Championships, Major Junior, & Collegiate hockey. Through those experiences he was able to compete against teams & players from all over the world. That experience taught him a great deal and enabled him to learn from a number of different philosophies. Coach House was also able to learn from a number of highly regarded coaches, as well as the experience of having played with and against many outstanding players, including those from all levels of professional hockey and the highest levels of amateur hockey. From his playing and coaching experience Coach House has witnessed the difference that individual skill development has in the progression of players – especially from an early age. Children learn and develop at their own pace, but the foundation for their knowledge, future learning and development starts early. The goals of TSHP are to work with the kids to concentrate on their fundamentals, and to build a solid foundation from which they can continue to develop. Sport is an excellent pursuit for our youth and is proven to be instrumental in the personal development and accomplishments of numerous professionals – in and out of sport. The confidence, teamwork, dedication and perseverance that come from sport are a part of the overall experience that can be gained through hockey. The goal is to create a positive environment for the players through which they can apply themselves to increase their individual skills, to build their confidence & self esteem in order to create a positive experience from which they can develop as players and young people.
