Spring update:
After high water Ievels in the creek, the new kayak dock drifted upstream and got beached on the bank. The dock is now back but unusable until further notice while we reattached it to the posts. We ask that all users please respect this for safety reasons.

WE ARE OPEN!!!!

Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, and the smooth operation of our new resurfacer, we did it!! The trail is in great condition and is open 3/4 of the way!!

Stay tuned for updates on when the rink area and rest of the trail opens up.

⚠️ Please Share! ⚠️

Another quick update regarding the skating trail:

With the warm spell the last while, and all the snow we’ve received, the ice isn’t quite thick enough yet to start clearing or flooding, which unfortunately means we may not be able to have things ready for Christmas thanks to Mother Nature.

For those who have seen our stories the last few days, we have some very exciting news, that we purchased a new (to us) ice resurfacer, thanks to the help from the Crystal City Lions Club. As mentioned in the last post, we are looking for more people willing to volunteer a couple times a month to help out with trail maintenance! The new machine is super easy to operate for people of all ages or abilities. Once we have a “training day” planned we will let everyone know. Please let us know if you’re able to help out (clearing snow or running resurfacer!) by sending us a PM to the page or sending me a text.

Hey Folks!

We just wanted to update everyone on the current status for our 2024/25 Skating Trail!

Our amazing volunteers have been busy making plans, tuning up equipment (with a surprise coming that will be unveiled later 🤩) and getting ready for the upcoming season!

We are hoping to be able to get out and start on Dec. 16th (weather and ice thickness permitting) with a tentative opening date of the 20th!

With the large amount of work it takes to start up, and maintain the trail throughout the year, we would like to remind everyone that it takes a LOT of volunteer hours to make this happen! If you are someone who enjoys using the trail, please consider contacting us to help out!

Donations are also accepted, to help cover our operating costs, and can be made through these methods!

We will be having a work bee tomorrow, August 22nd, at the ball park from 7-9pm to get ready for the Melanie Klassen Memorial Field Dedication and BBQ.

We need people to help with new sign installation, mowing and trimming.
