The swim practice times will be split into sessions based on swimmer age/ability as follows:

Senior Swimmers - Division 4 and up or children born before May 2012 (or any swimmer who is assessed by the Coach and has the ability may be moved to this Session). These Swimmers will swim from 4:45pm to 5:45pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday for April 30 - August 1. Cost for the season is $475

Junior Swimmers - Division 3 and down or children born after April 2012. These Swimmers will swim from 3:45pm to 4:45pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday for April 30 - August 1. Cost for the season is $475

Swimmers 6 and under as of April 30, 2024 and Swimmers unable to swim a full length unaided (based on Coach assessment) - These Swimmers will swim from 3:45pm to 4:45pm Tuesday and Thursday from April 30 - Aug 1. These swimmers will swim in the Leisure Lane in the Leisure Pool. Cost for the season is $225

From July 2 until Aug 1 additional morning swim practices will be added 2 days per week for Junior and Senior Swimmers. Also during this period on the 2 mornings that we do not swim there will be dryland training for all Swimmers to attend.

For Swimmers that attend the Regional Swim meet and qualify for Provincials there will be practices from Aug 6 - Aug 14 in preparation for the Provincial Meet at UBC.

Children should be on deck 15 minutes early for warmup and stretching.

The Club is a non for profit society and as such each family is expected to fundraise $100 per family. The Club plans to run 2 fundraisers during the season. First will be an online 50/50 draw where parents/children can share the link to the draw and have people who are purchasing tickets pick which family they are purchasing a ticket on behalf of.

Meet fees will be charged for all Meets attended (other than the home meet in Creston). This fee is $10 per meet which is due prior to attending the meet. 6 and under swimmers do not have to pay to swim at meets.

Swimmers do not have to attend every practice, although it is encouraged especially if they will be competing in the Swim Meets.

There will be a Mandatory Parent's Meeting on Tuesday, April 30 from 4:00 - 4:45pm to discuss the upcoming season. We do require a lot of volunteers to help during all of the Swim Meets and it is expected that Parents will volunteer for the positions that are required.

The Summer Swim will be split into 2 separate sessions as we do not have confirmation from the Pool on what swim times will be for July/Aug. So there will be a May/June session and a July/Aug session. The cost of the initial registration for May/June session includes the yearly BCSSA Insurance fee of $35 which covers swimmers for the year starting on May 1/23 until April 30/2024, it also includes a $30 Kootenay Region yearly fee. The cost will be $250 for all swimmers from Division 1 and up. The cost for age 6 and under swimmers will be $150.

The swim times will be split into different times based on swimmer age/ability as follows:

Senior Swimmers - Division 3 and up of children born before Oct 2012 (or any swimmer who is assessed by the Coach and has the ability may be moved to this Session). These Swimmers will swim from 4:45pm to 5:45pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

Junior Swimmers - Division 2 and down or children born after Nov 2012 and after (or beginning swimmers). These Swimmers will swim from 3:45pm to 4:45pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

Children should be on deck 15 minutes early for warmup and stretching.

Swim practices will start on Tuesday, May 2.

We will determine costs for the July/August session when we know the pool availability and the number of swimmers registered. We anticipate if our July/August hours are similar to what we have seen in the past the cost for the entire Summer Swim will be in the $400-425 range. Normal swim practices for the July/August sessions are as follows, swim 2 days in the morning, have dryland training the opposite 2 days in the morning, and will swim 4 days in the afternoon (Monday - Thursday).

We will be breaking the Summer swim into 2 separate sessions as we do not have confirmation from the Pool on what swim times will be after June. The cost of the initial registration for May and June includes the yearly BCSSA Insurance fee of $35 which covers swimmers for the year starting on May 1/22 until April 30/2023, it also includes a $30 Kootenay Region yearly fee. It will be $250.00 for Div 3 and up and $170.00 Div 2 and below. We will determine costs for July and August when we know the pool availability and the number of swimmers registered. If the season runs as normal, Division 3 and up swimmers will pay a total registration fee of around $400 and Div 2 and lower will pay around $300.

Swimmers in Div 3 and up will swim from Monday - Thursday from 3:45-4:45pm, swimmers in Div 2 and under will swim on Monday and Wednesday from 4:45-5:45pm for the months of May and June. Children should be on deck 15 minutes early for warmup and stretching.

Division 3 and up swimmers are children that were born in Oct 2011 and earlier. Division 2 and under are any swimmers from Nov 2011 and after.

There will be no Duck Race Fundraising fee this year as we could not confirm Pool availability to have the Duck Race this year.

Meet fees will be charged in addition to the Swim Registration fee and they are $10/meet that is attended.

Sorry for the late notice and uncertainty, getting everything back and running after the pandemic closure, as well as the lifeguard shortage, has been difficult.

I plan on holding a Parent's Meeting on Monday, May 2 during the swim practices for anyone that has any questions about the club. We do require a lot of volunteers to make our home meet as well as all of the away meets run smoothly. Anyone who would be interested in helping out is encouraged to come to this meeting and different roles can be explained at that time.
