Once again, we are absolutely blown away by our community!
Earlier this year, Ben Forster and Rob & Brenda Erickson approached the Cremona Ag Society about hosting a BRC Bull Riding event, and just like that, Buckin In The Village was born.
There are so many people to thank, starting with the Buckin In The Village Committee. Led by Ben Forster, we quickly secured stock contractors, rodeo personnel, and a date for the event. Jackie Forster took on social media and marketing, setting the vibe for the event, keeping everyone informed, and trying to keep the rest of us focused—which I’m sure felt like herding cats some days!
Brenda and Rob Erickson organized the Young Guns Show, an invitational Steer Riding and Junior Bull Riding event held on Friday night, with the top three riders advancing to Buckin In The Village and the chance to be named the first-ever Champion.
Also on Friday, Ben Forster organized an ABBI Canada event that saw 35 up-and-coming bulls showcase their athleticism and gave spectators a glimpse into how bucking bulls are made.
Cody Farquharson took on the monumental task of getting the arena ready. After eight truck-and-pup loads of sand, countless hours in the skid steer, and the removal of the arena glass, we were finally ready for the steel.
At times it wasn’t pretty, and there were moments when we wondered what we had gotten ourselves into. But through hard work, perseverance, and teamwork, we pulled off one incredible weekend for our community.

Thank you to Nathan Edmond, Luke Tannas, Jim Kinch, and Shayne Bellamy for working the other bars, and to Sandi Kinch, Everly Edmond, and Meaghan Bellamy for selling 50/50 and drink tickets throughout the event.
A huge thank you to Shannon Lashmore, Sheila Fournier, and Loree Sheehan from Cafe Shan, who not only fed us all winter long but volunteered to serve us one more night!
To our VIP waitresses—Maddie Thomas(next time you see her, ask her to do the worm 😉), Devyn Gunderson, Haven Edmond, and Isla Edmond—thank you for taking such great care of our guests.

To Beth Luyendyk, Karen O’Connor, Sandi Ryan, and Karen, thank you for getting everyone checked in quickly so they could get on with enjoying the evening.

One of the most epic rides of the weekend came when Bryce Quigley rode Nigel for an incredible 10.18 seconds, helping raise more than $16,000 for the Ag Society. What a moment!
From the first steer rider to leave the chute on Friday to the final bull rider on Saturday night, the entire weekend was nothing short of epic. It was a celebration of community, hard work, and western heritage that none of us will soon forget.
