Sometimes you need to take a moment and enjoy what's in front of you. That's how we feel about Shadow.

Sweeping greens. Bunkers carved into the land like they grew there. And if you know where to look, a few tiny gnomes tucked into corners of the property that most golfers walk right past.

We have some news worth sharing.

ScoreGolf has named Shadow Mountain a Top 100 course in Canada, ranked across both public and private courses. It's the first time we've made that list, and it means a lot to the entire team.

Since 2015, we've held a spot among Canada's Top 59 best public courses. Now we're standing alongside the very best courses in the country, period.

None of this happens without our incredible maintenance staff, who have kept Shadow Mountain in top 100 conditions long before we had the recognition.

The course gets most of the attention. The clubhouse deserves some too.

From the moment you pull in, Shadow Mountain feels like somewhere worth arriving at. Bogey greets you at the entrance. The pro shop has everything you need to look the part. And the patio? The patio is its own reason to show up.

Hole 3 - 345 yards from the tips. Waste bunker left, water right of the green. Short enough to feel comfortable, tricky enough to remind you that comfort is dangerous on this hole. Doug plays it smart and that is the whole lesson right there.

One minute you are standing on an open tee box with the mountains laid out in front of you, the kind of view that makes you forget you still have a shot to hit. The next you are tucked into the trees, the fairway narrowing, the course asking a completely different question than the one before

That variety is the whole point. Shadow does not play one note for 18 holes.

The round is only part of the day.

Before you tee off or after the last putt drops, the Bear's Den is ready for you. Good food, cold drinks, and a setting that makes it easy to linger a little longer than you planned. Which, honestly, is exactly the point.

Shadow Mountain is not a course you rush through. It is a place you settle into. The kitchen is just one more reason to stay.

Come hungry. Book your tee time and make a full day of it.
