Six In The Stix Mountain Biking Festival

Six In The Stix Mountain Biking Festival 3rd weekend of September: Kids & Youth Stix in on Sat. at 1pm for riders aged 2-14. The 6-hour race for solos and relay teams of 2 is on Sun. at 9am.

The annual event continues to expand into a real big festival. Kids & Youth ride smooth pavement or trails & bumps on Saturday in the afternoon. Sunday, there's up to 6.5 hr of wicked riding of a lap that features just about everything you can find in the forest...even a teeter-totter! Do it solo or share the fun with a teammate. Recreational riders new to a MTB "race" can take part in the 1ap Stix, providing riders with a chance to experience the fun of the 13km loop.

At this time, I am not planning on hosting the 2018 Six In The Stix mountain biking event. But please stay tuned to the future announcement of the September 2019 event. Have a fun mountain biking season, cheers, Charlie Cooper

Unfortunately due to low registration and the recent local wildfires & resulting smoke that have forced a closure of trails on Crown Land, the 2017 Six In The Stix has been cancelled. Stay tuned for info about the 2018 event.

Youth Stix on Saturday Sept 17 offers 3 races catering for all ages, abilities and types of bike! Riders 2 years old & up can pedal or stride around and over obstacles in the 15 min Stix, and mountain bikers 4 y/o & up have a choice of the 30 min or 60 min Stix on a 1.3 km trail lap! Online registration ends on Friday at 11:59 pm, limited paper entries on Saturday at 12 noon at COTR.

The event's on pace to have a RECORD number of RELAY TEAMS take on the 6.5 hour challenge this Sunday! That's right, 6 hours and 30 min...if a team rider (or solo rider) makes it to the timing station in less than 5 h 45 min on the race clock, then the team can attempt to notch one more by returning just before the 6 hours 30 min mark. Will a solo or team get the epic 10 laps this year?!?! The 2016 lap decision has been made! After exploring various tweaking options this morning, especially on the back side where there are numerous fast and fun descents, the call has been made to keep the loop exactly the same as in 2014 & 2015. The only change will be the start, which will take riders on the golf course maintenance facility access road, up the old partly-paved dump road, and tie in to the ending of the 13 km loop, to then join onto College Way. This should do the trick of spread riders out...to be confirmed on Sept 18!
